The Marvels

The Marvels is an upcoming American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the characters Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended to be the sequel to the film Captain Marvel (2019), a continuation of the television series Ms. Marvel (2022), and the 33rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The film is directed by Nia DaCosta from a screenplay she co-wrote with Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells. It stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton, and Park Seo-jun. In the film, Danvers, Rambeau, and Khan begin swapping places with each other every time they use their powers and must team up.

Marvel Studios confirmed plans to make a sequel to Captain Marvel in July 2019, and development began in January 2020 with McDonnell joining and Larson set to return. DaCosta was hired that August, with Parris and Vellani revealed to be cast in December. Second unit filming began in mid-April 2021 in New Jersey, with the title revealed in early May. Principal photography had begun by early August 2021 and concluded by mid-May 2022, taking place at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire and Longcross Studios in Surrey, England, as well as in Los Angeles and Tropea, Italy. The other screenwriters were revealed during post-production.

The Marvels is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 10, 2023, as part of Phase Five of the MCU. Watch the final trailer below.

The Killer

The Killer is a 2023 American neo-noir action thriller film directed by David Fincher (Fight Club, Gone Girl) from a screenplay by Andrew Kevin Walker. It is based on the French graphic novel series of the same name written by Alexis "Matz" Nolent and illustrated by Luc Jacamon. The film stars Michael Fassbender in the title role, alongside Arliss Howard, Charles Parnell, Kerry O'Malley, Sala Baker, Sophie Charlotte, and Tilda Swinton.

After a fateful near-miss, an assassin battles his employers, and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal.

The Killer premiered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival on September 3, 2023, and had a limited theatrical release on October 27, 2023; it is scheduled to begin streaming on November 10, 2023, by Netflix. Watch the official trailer below.

The Holdovers

The Holdovers is a 2023 American comedy-drama film directed by Alexander Payne (Election, Nebraska) and written by David Hemingson. The film stars Paul Giamatti (The Truman Show, Sideways), Da'Vine Joy Randolph (Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, The Idol), and Dominic Sessa.

Set in the early 1970s, the film follows Paul Hunham (Giamatti), a disliked teacher at Barton Academy, who's responsible for supervising students who are unable to return home for the Christmas holidays. During this process, Paul is forced to deal with one particularly rebellious but troubled student, Angus (Sessa), who is grieving the loss of his father.

The Holdovers premiered at the 50th Telluride Film Festival on August 31, 2023, and is scheduled for a limited theatrical release in the United States on October 27, 2023, followed by a wide release on November 10, 2023, by Focus Features. Watch the official trailer below.

Manodrome

Manodrome is a 2023 drama thriller film written and directed by John Trengove (The Wound). It stars Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland, The Social Network), Adrien Brody (The Pianist, The Grand Budapest Hotel), Odessa Young (Assassination Nation, Shirley), Sallieu Sesay (Hornet), Philip Ettinger (First Reformed, Brawl in Cell Block 99), Ethan Suplee (The Wolf of Wall Street, Babylon), Evan Jonigkeit (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Night House), and Caleb Eberhardt (The Post, Judas and the Black Messiah).

Ralphie (Eisenberg) is an Uber driver and aspiring bodybuilder who is inducted into a libertarian masculinity cult and loses his grip on reality when his repressed desires are awakened.

The film is Trengove's English language debut and premiered at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival on February 18, 2023. It is scheduled to be released by Lionsgate in the United States on November 10, 2023. Watch the official trailer below.

The Buccaneers

The Buccaneers is an upcoming British period drama television series written by Katherine Jakeways, based on the unfinished novel of the same name by American novelist Edith Wharton, published posthumously in 1938. The series stars Kristine Froseth, Alisha Boe, Josie Totah, Aubri Ibrag, Imogen Waterhouse, Mia Threapleton, Christina Hendricks, Josh Dylan, Barney Fishwick, Guy Remmers, and Matthew Broome.

Sent to secure husbands and titles, young American women explode into the tightly corseted London season of the 1870s, kicking off an Anglo-American culture clash.

The Curse

The Curse is an upcoming American comedy television series created and written by Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie, and starring Emma Stone (Superbad, La La Land), Fielder (Nathan for You, The Rehearsal), and Safdie (Good Time, Oppenheimer).

A genre-bending scripted comedy that explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple (Stone and Fielder) as they try to conceive a child while co-starring on their problematic new HGTV show.

The series was filmed from June to October 2022 and its first three episodes were premiered at the New York Film Festival on October 12, 2023. It will premiere on streaming and on-demand for all Showtime and Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers on November 10, 2023, before making its on-air debut on Showtime on November 12, 2023. The Marsh King's Daughter

The Marsh King’s Daughter is a 2023 mystery crime drama directed by Neil Burger (Limitless, Divergent, The Upside), from a screenplay by Elle Smith and Mark L. Smith, based on the 2017 novel by Karen Dionne. Back in 2018 Alicia Vikander was set to star in the film, but due to delays getting the film off the ground Daisy Ridley eventually replaced Vikander.

Helena’s (Daisy Ridley) seemingly ordinary life hides a dark and dangerous truth: her estranged father is the infamous Marsh King (Ben Mendelsohn), the man who kept her and her mother captive in the wilderness for years. When her father escapes from prison, Helena will need to confront her past. Knowing that he will hunt for her and her family, Helena must find the strength to face her demons and outmaneuver the man who taught her everything she knows about surviving in the wild.

The cast includes Daisy Ridley, Ben Mendelsohn, Garrett Hedlund, Caren Pistorius, Brooklynn Prince, and Gil Birmingham.

What Happens Later is a 2023 romantic comedy directed by Meg Ryan, from a screenplay by Ryan, Steven Dietz, and Kirk Lynn. The film marks the When Harry Met Sally stars first time back to acting on the big-screen in 8-years.

Two ex lovers, Bill (David Duchovny) and Willa (Meg Ryan) get snowed in at a regional airport overnight. Indefinitely delayed, Willa, a magical thinker, and Bill, a catastrophic one, find themselves just as attracted to and annoyed by one another as they did decades earlier. But as they unpack the riddle of their mutual past and compare their lives to the dreams they once shared, they begin to wonder if their reunion is mere coincidence, or something more enchanted.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves

Lawmen: Bass Reeves is an upcoming American Western television series created by Chad Feehan, who also serves as showrunner, and executive produced by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone), Feehan, David C. Glasser, David Oyelowo, Jessica Oyelowo, David Permut, Christina Alexandra Voros, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari and David Hutkin.

It is based on the life of the first black Deputy U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River, Bass Reeves. Oyelowo stars as Reeves, while Dennis Quaid, Forrest Goodluck, Lauren E. Banks, Barry Pepper, Grantham Coleman, Demi Singleton, Garrett Hedlund, Dale Dickey, Shea Whigham, and Donald Sutherland also star.

The series is set to premiere on Paramount+ on Sunday, November 5, 2023, with back-to-back episodes. Watch the official trailer below.

Quiz Lady is an upcoming American comedy film directed by Jessica Yu and written by Jen D'Angelo. The film stars Sandra Oh and Awkwafina alongside Jason Schwartzman, Tony Hale, Holland Taylor, and Will Ferrell, who is also producing with Jessica Elbaum.

A brilliant but tightly wound, gameshow-obsessed young woman, Anne (Awkwafina), and her estranged, train-wreck of a sister Jenny (Oh), must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild, cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion.

All the Light We Cannot See is an upcoming American drama limited series directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, Free Guy) and developed by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) for Netflix. Based on Anthony Doerr's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name, it stars Aria Mia Loberti, Mark Ruffalo (Shutter Island, Avengers: Endgame), and Hugh Laurie (House, Veep).

The four-part series follows the stories of a blind French girl named Marie-Laure (Loberti) and a German soldier named Werner (Louis Hofmann), whose paths cross in occupied France during World War II.

All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt is a 2023 drama film written and directed by Raven Jackson. Barry Jenkins (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk) serves as a producer under his Pastel banner. The film had its world premiere in the U.S. Dramatic competition at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival on January 22, 2023.

A decades-spanning exploration of a woman's life in Mississippi and an ode to the generations of people, places, and ineffable moments that shape us.

The cast includes Charleen McClure, Moses Ingram, Reginald Helms Jr., Zainab Jah, Sheila Atim and Chris Chalk.

Priscilla

Priscilla is a 2023 American biographical film written, directed, and co-produced by Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette) based on Priscilla Presley's 1985 memoir Elvis and Me, which she co-wrote with Sandra Harmon, and follows Priscilla's life and relationship with Elvis Presley.

Cailee Spaeny (Vice, Bad Times at the El Royale) and Jacob Elordi (Euphoria, The Kissing Booth) star as Priscilla and Elvis, respectively. Dagmara Domińczyk (Succession), Emily Mitchell (Women Talking), Jorja Cadence (Stardust), Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll (Room, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark), Tim Post (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Nightmare Alley), and Ari Cohen (It, Molly’s Game) also star.

It is the first English-language film for Niko, and his second feature film. Fingernails had its world premiere at the 50th Telluride Film Festival on August 31, 2023. It also screened at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2023

Anna (Jessie Buckley) and Ryan (Jeremy Allen White) have found true love. It’s been proven by a controversial new technology. There’s just one problem: Anna still isn’t sure. Then she takes a position at a love testing institute, and meets Amir (Rez Ahmed).

NYAD is a 2023 American biographical sports drama film directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin (Free Solo, The Rescue), and written by Julia Cox. It stars Annette Bening (American Beauty, Captain Marvel) as swimmer Diana Nyad, alongside Jodie Foster (Taxi Driver, The Silence of the Lambs) and Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill, Spider-Man: No Way Home). The film is Vasarhelyi and Chin's narrative feature directorial debut and is based on Nyad's autobiography Find a Way.

Five Nights At Freddy's

Five Nights at Freddy's is a 2023 supernatural horror film directed by Emma Tammi from a screenplay she co-wrote with Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback, based on the video game franchise of the same name created and developed by Cawthon.

The film was first announced in April 2015 with the involvement of Warner Bros. Pictures, and Gil Kenan made a deal to direct and co-write it. After several delays to begin production, Warner Bros. eventually put the project into turnaround and Kenan was no longer involved. In March 2017, it was announced that Blumhouse Productions would produce the film.

Mike Schmidt, a troubled security guard, starts a night-time job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a once-successful, but now generally abandoned family entertainment center, where he discovers its four animatronic mascots — Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate Fox — move and kill anyone that is still there after midnight.

The cast includes Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Kat Conner Sterling, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Matthew Lillard.
