Kung Fu Panda 4

Kung Fu Panda 4 is a 2024 animated martial arts comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures. It is the fourth installment in the Kung Fu Panda franchise, and the sequel to Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016). The film is directed by Mike Mitchell and co-directed by Stephanie Ma Stine, written by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger.

Po, who is set to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace, searches for his successor as the new Dragon Warrior while fighting a new foe called "The Chameleon".

The cast of voice actors includes Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, James Hong, Bryan Cranston, and Ian McShane reprising their roles from the previous films, with Awkwafina, Viola Davis, and Ke Huy Quan joining the cast as new characters.

Cabrini

Cabrini is a 2024 Christian biographical film directed by Alejandro Gómez Monteverde (Sound of Freedom), who co-wrote the screenplay with Rod Barr.

The film details the life of famed Roman Catholic missionary and future Saint Francesca Cabrini (Cristiana Dell’Anna) as she encounters resistance to her charity and business efforts in New York City.

Accidental Texan

Accidental Texan is a 2023 comedy drama film directed by Mark Bristol and written by Julie B. Denny. It is based on the novel Chocolate Lizards by Cole Thompson.

Fresh-faced recent Harvard student Erwin (Rudy Pankow) flames out of his first professional acting job when he forgets to turn off his phone and triggers an explosive nightmare on set. His career and cell phone in tatters, he flees the New Orleans set, only to have his car break down deep in the heart of Texas oil country.

Seeking refuge and some possible phone service in a local diner, he meets Faye (Carrie-Anne Moss), a kind waitress who takes pity on him and offers up the local phone book to find a mechanic. Without enough funds to fix his car, Erwin accepts an offer from Merle, a local oil driller (Thomas Haden Church) only to find out he too is nearly bankrupt and cannot pay his bills. With both men in desperate straits, Merle realizes their only hope may be Erwin’s acting skills and a little help from Faye’s shotgun.

The cast includes Thomas Haden Church, Rudy Pankow, Carrie Anne-Moss, and Bruce Dern.

The Gentlemen

The Gentlemen is a 2024 crime action comedy series created by Guy Ritchie, and is a spin-off of his 2019 film of the same name.

Eddie Halstead inherits a large estate from his father, unaware it fronts Pearson's drug empire. With no crime experience, he must take over the operation or lose the estate.

The cast includes Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Giancarlo Esposito, Peter Serafinowicz, and Vinnie Jones.

5lbs of Pressure is a 2024 crime thriller film written and directed by Phil Allocco (The Truth About Lies).

Adam (Luke Evans), an ex-con back in his old neighborhood after serving a 16-year stretch for murder, walks a rocky path of forgiveness toward the son who grew up without him, while the bitter, volatile brother of the youth he killed looms in the background. Meanwhile, Mike (Rory Culkin), sick of doing the bidding of his drug-dealing uncle (Alex Pettyfer), is desperate to leave his sordid life behind. When Adam and Mike’s paths converge, inescapable destiny will give way to violence…and a final, fleeting shot at redemption.

The cast includes Luke Evans, Rory Culkin, Zac Adams, Rudy Pankow, Stephanie Leonidas, Savannah Steyn, Lorraine Burroughs, and Alex Pettyfer.

Ricky Stanicky

Ricky Stanicky is a 2024 R-rated comedy film directed by Peter Farrelly. The screenplay was written by Farrelly, Brian Jarvis, and James L. Freeman, based on an original spec script by Bushell and Oedekerk.

When three childhood best friends pull a prank gone wrong, they invent the imaginary Ricky Stanicky to get them out of trouble! Twenty years after creating this ‘friend,’ Dean, JT, and Wes (Zac Efron, Andrew Santino, and Jermaine Fowler) still use the nonexistent Ricky as a handy alibi for their immature behavior.

When their spouses and partners get suspicious and demand to finally meet the fabled Mr. Stanicky, the guilty trio decide to hire washed-up actor and raunchy celebrity impersonator "Rock Hard" Rod (John Cena) to bring him to life. But when Rod takes his role of a lifetime too far, they begin to wish they’d never invented Ricky in the first place.

The cast includes Zac Efron, John Cena, Jermaine Fowler, Andrew Santino, Lex Scott Davis, William H. Macy, and Anja Savcic.

American Dreamer

American Dreamer is a 2022 black comedy film directed by Paul Dektor (in his feature debut) and written by Theodore Melfi. Based on a segment from the radio show This American Life, the film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 11, 2022.

Dr. Phil Loder (Peter Dinklage), a low-level, adjunct professor of economics at Harvard, has always dreamed of owning a home. His wish becomes a possibility when a lonely widow offers Phil her sprawling estate for pennies. The deal, however, is too good to be true.

The cast includes Peter Dinklage, Shirley MacLaine, Matt Dillon, and Danny Glover.

Damsel

Damsel is a 2024 fantasy drama film directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later, Intruders) and written by Dan Mazeau. The film stars Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things, Enola Holmes), Angela Bassett (Malcolm X, Black Panther), Robin Wright (Forrest Gump, Blade Runner 2049), Ray Winstone (The Departed, Black Widow), Nick Robinson (Jurassic World, Love, Simon), Brooke Carter, and Shohreh Aghdashloo (X-Men: The Last Stand, Renfield).

A dutiful damsel (Millie Bobby Brown) agrees to marry a handsome prince (Nick Robinson), only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her wits and will to survive.

Dune: Part Two

Dune: Part Two is a 2024 epic science fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts. The sequel to the massive blockbuster Dune (our full review here), it is the second of a two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel Dune by Frank Herbert.

Paul Atreides unites with Chani and the Fremen while seeking revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the universe, he must prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

Returning cast members include Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem, with Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Léa Seydoux joining the ensemble cast.

Spaceman

Spaceman is a 2024 science fiction drama film directed by Johan Renck and written by Colby Day, based on the 2017 novel Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfař. The film is scheduled to have its world premiere at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in February 2024.

Six months into a solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub (Adam Sandler), realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan), he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship. Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano) works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it is too late.

The cast includes Adam Sandler, Paul Dano, Carey Mulligan, Kunal Nayyar, and Isabella Rossellini.

The Regime

The Regime is a 2024 miniseries from HBO starring Kate Winslet (Titanic, Mare of Easttown), Andrea Riseborough (Mandy, To Leslie), Matthias Schoenaerts (The Drop, Red Sparrow), and Hugh Grant (Notting Hill, Love Actually). Will Tracy is writer, executive producer, and showrunner on the series with Stephen Frears (The Queen) and Jessica Hobbs directing episodes and executive producing. Kate Winslet, Frank Rich, and Tracey Seaward are also executive producers.

After not leaving the palace for quite some time, Chancellor Elena Vernham becomes increasingly paranoid and unstable and turns to a volatile soldier, Herbert Zubak, as an unlikely confidant. As Zubak's influence over the chancellor grows, Elena's attempts to expand her power eventually result in the palace and the country fracturing around her.

The cast includes Kate Winslet (Titanic, Mare of Easttown), Andrea Riseborough (Mandy, To Leslie), Matthias Schoenaerts (The Drop, Red Sparrow), and Hugh Grant (Notting Hill, Love Actually).

Code 8 Part II

Code 8 Part II is a 2024 Canadian science fiction action film serving as a sequel to the 2019 film Code 8. Directed by Jeff Chan, who co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Paré, Sherren Lee, and Jesse LaVercombe, the film will have Robbie Amell (The DUFF, The Babysitter) and Stephen Amell (Closing the Ring, Arrow) reprise their roles as Connor Reed and Garrett Kelton from the original film.

The film centers around the 4% of people living in fictional Lincoln City who possess special abilities. It follows the journey of a teenage girl fighting to get justice for her slain brother at the hands of corrupt police officers. After becoming a witness to the cover-up, she becomes a target and enlists the help of an ex-con and his former partner-in-crime.

Shōgun

Shōgun is an upcoming American period drama television limited series based on the 1975 novel of the same name by James Clavell. 'Shogun' was also adapted into a drama series in 1980, starring Toshiro Mifune (Rashomon, Seven Samurai).

The collision of two ambitious men from different worlds and a mysterious female samurai: John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), a risk-taking English sailor who ends up shipwrecked in Japan, a land whose unfamiliar culture will ultimately redefine him; Lord Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), a shrewd, powerful daimyo, at odds with his own dangerous, political rivals; and Lady Mariko (Anna Sawai), a woman with invaluable skills but dishonorable family ties, who must prove her value and allegiance.

The Sweet East

The Sweet East is an upcoming coming-of-age drama film directed by Sean Price Williams, from a screenplay by Nick Pinkerton. Williams, in his directorial debut, is a cinematographer and actor turned director from Wilmington, Delaware. The film is set to open in NYC on December 1st, 2023, with a special roadshow to follow in select cities with the cast and crew.

A picaresque journey through the cities and woods of the Eastern seaboard of the United States. Lillian, a high school senior from South Carolina, gets her first glimpse of the wider world on a class trip to Washington, D.C. Separated from her schoolmates, she embarks on a fractured road trip in search of America. Along the way, she falls in with a variety of strange factions, each living out their own alternative realities in our present day.

The cast includes Talia Ryder, Earl Cave, Simon Rex, Ayo Edebiri, Jeremy O. Harris, Jacob Elordi, and Rish Shah.

Parallel

Parallel is a 2024 science fiction thriller film directed by Kourosh Ahari and written by Aldis Hodge and his brother Edwin Hodge, along with Jonathan Keasey. It is a remake of the 2019 Chinese film Parallel Forest by Lei Zheng.

Grief-stricken after the loss of her child, Vanessa takes refuge at a lake house only to be met with an aberration of herself from a parallel universe and realizes the multiverse gates hold the key to releasing her grief or trapping her forever.

The cast includes Danielle Deadwyler, Aldis Hodge, and Edwin Hodge.

Drive-Away Dolls

Drive-Away Dolls is a 2024 action comedy road film directed by Ethan Coen (the first film he has directed without his brother Joel’s involvement). Coen wrote the screenplay with his wife Tricia Cooke; they also produced the film with Robert Graf and Working Title Films' Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. It stars Margaret Qualley (The Nice Guys, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood), Geraldine Viswanathan (Blockers, Bad Education), Beanie Feldstein (Lady Bird, Booksmart), Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, The Last of Us), Colman Domingo (If Beale Street Could Talk, Candyman), Bill Camp (The Night Of, Joker), and Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting, The Martian).

Jamie (Qualley), an uninhibited free spirit bemoaning yet another breakup with a girlfriend, and her demure friend Marian (Viswanathan) who desperately needs to loosen up. In search of a fresh start, the two embark on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee, but things quickly go awry when they cross paths with a group of inept criminals along the way.

Ordinary Angels

Ordinary Angels is a 2024 drama film directed by Jon Gunn (The Case for Christ) and written by Meg Tilly and Kelly Fremon Craig. Craig previously penned the screenplays for The Edge of Seventeen (2016), and Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret (2023).

Based on a remarkable true story, the film centers on Sharon Stevens (Hilary Swank), a fierce but struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets Ed Schmitt (Alan Ritchson), a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters. With his youngest daughter waiting for a liver transplant, Sharon sets her mind to helping the family and will move mountains to do it. What unfolds is the inspiring tale of faith, everyday miracles, and ordinary angels.

Stopmotion

Stopmotion is a 2023 British live-action psychological horror thriller film directed by Robert Morgan in his feature-length debut. Morgan, who studied Animation Filmmaking in college, also wrote the script with Robin King. The film has a unique and creative approach combining live action and stop motion animation. Stopmotion had its world premiere at the 2023 Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas on September 24th, 2023.

Ella Blake, a stop-motion animator struggling to control her demons after the loss of her overbearing mother, embarks upon the creation of a film that becomes the battleground for her sanity. As Ella’s mind starts to fracture, the characters in her project take on a life of their own.

The cast includes Aisling Franciosi, Stella Gonet, and Tom York.

Constellation

Constellation is a 2024 psychological thriller television series created by Peter Harness. The series is scheduled to be released on February 21, 2024, with its first three episodes.

An astronaut returns to Earth after a disaster in space, only to discover that key pieces of her life seem to be missing.

The cast includes Noomi Rapace, Jonathan Banks, James D'Arcy, Julian Looman, Lenn Kudrjawizki, William Catlett, and Barbara Sukowa.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an upcoming American adventure fantasy streaming television series. It is a live-action adaptation of the animated television series of the same name (2005–2008). First announced in September 2018, Albert Kim is set to be the showrunner, with an ensemble cast including Gordon Cormier (Lost in Space, The Stand), Dallas Liu (PEN15, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Kiawentiio (Anne with an E, Rutherford Falls), Ian Ousley (13 Reasons Why, Physical), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (The Mandalorian, Ahsoka) and Daniel Dae Kim (Hawaii Five-0, Hellboy).

The series is set in a war-torn Asian and Arctic-inspired world where certain people can "bend" one of the four classical elements—water, earth, fire, or air. Aang, the "Avatar" and the last living Airbender, is the "bridge" between the mortal and spirit worlds, and the only one capable of bending all four of the elements. The Avatar maintains the balance of the world and nature to bring peace, and Aang is now faced with the responsibility of ending the ambitions of the militaristic Fire Nation to conquer the world. With his new companions Katara and Sokka, Aang sets out to master the four classical elements while pursued by the exiled Fire Nation crown prince Zuko, who seeks to regain his honor by capturing him.

The series is scheduled to premiere on February 22, 2024, on Netflix and will consist of eight episodes. Watch the official trailers below.
