The Punisher is making his return as a Netflix exclusive and fans are ecstatic!! The lead role was given to Jon Bernthal who has developed quite the cult following as an actor after his strong performance as Shane in AMC's The Walking Dead. - The Punisher made his first appearance in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man # 129 in February 1974. He was originally going to be a minor second string character due to his penchant for killing, but due to his popularity, he became a more prominent figure in the larger MCU.
- With the release of this show on Netflix, there will be 8 superheroes resident to New York City. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Doctor Strange, Captain America, Iron Fist, Spider-Man, and of course, The Punisher.
