The directorial debut for Simon Kinberg, who has an extensive list of producer credits including most of the X-Men films, the FX series Legion, and Deadpool 2, Dark Phoenix tells the story of Jean Gray and her transformation into the Dark Phoenix. In 1992, nearly a decade after the events of X-Men: Apocalypse, the X-Men are national heroes going on increasingly risky missions. When a solar flare hits them during a rescue mission in space, Jean Grey loses control of her abilities and unleashes the Phoenix. Check out the official trailers below!!

• Talented composer Hans Zimmer decided to retire from composing superhero movies after having worked on scores for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Spider-Man, but director Simon Kinberg convinced him to work on this film.

• This is Jessica Chastain's first Marvel film. She previously turned down the roles of Maya Hansen in Iron Man 3 (2013) and Hope Van Dyne in Ant-Man (2015).
