West Side Story

West Side Story is a 2021 romantic musical drama directed and co-produced by Steven Spielberg, with a screenplay by Tony Kushner and choreography by Justin Peck. The film is the second feature-length adaptation of the 1957 Broadway musical of the same name by Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein, and Stephen Sondheim, which is based loosely on William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The screenplay is expected to follow the Broadway script more so than the 1961 film adaptation.

An adaptation of the 1957 musical, West Side Story explores forbidden love and the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds.

The cast includes Rachel Zegler and Ansel Elgort, with Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, Mike Faist, Josh Andrés Rivera, Corey Stoll and Brian d'Arcy James. Rita Moreno, who appeared in the 1961 film, has a supporting role and is an executive producer.

West Side Story is scheduled to be released by 20th Century Studios in the United States on December 10th, after being delayed a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Don't Look Up

Don’t Look Up is a 2021 science fiction comedy drama written and directed by Adam McKay. It tells the story of two low-level astronomers who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet Earth.

The cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Scott Mescudi, Michael Chiklis, Melanie Lynskey, Himesh Patel, Tomer Sisley, Paul Guilfoyle, and Robert Joy.

Being the Ricardos

Being the Ricardos is a 2021 biographical drama film written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, with Amazon acquiring the rights to the film in August of 2017.

A revealing glimpse of the couple's complex romantic and professional relationship, the film takes audiences into the writers' room, onto the soundstage and behind closed doors with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz during one critical production week of their groundbreaking sitcom I Love Lucy.

The cast includes Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem as Ball and Arnaz, while J. K. Simmons, Nina Arianda, Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat, Jake Lacy, and Clark Gregg also star.

Being the Ricardos is scheduled to receive a limited theatrical release by Amazon Studios exclusively in the United States on December 10th, 2021, prior to streaming globally on Prime Video on December 21st. Watch the official trailer below.

Red Rocket

Red Rocket is a 2021 comedy drama film directed by Sean Baker, from a screenplay by Baker and Chris Bergoch. The film stars Simon Rex as Mikey Saber, a washed-up porn star who returns to his small Texas hometown, even though no one there really wants him back.

Red Rocket  premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival in competition for the Palme d’Or and is scheduled to be released in select theaters December 10th, by A24. Watch the official trailer below.

Agnes

Agnes is a 2021 horror thriller from director Micky Reece, who wrote the script with John Selvidge. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 12th, 2021.

Rumors of demonic possession at a religious convent prompts a church investigation into the strange goings-on among its nuns. A disaffected priest and his neophyte are confronted with temptation, bloodshed and a crisis of faith.

The cast includes Molly Quinn, Hayley McFarland, Sean Gunn, and Rachel True.

National Champions

National Champions is a 2021 sports drama film directed by Ric Roman Waugh. Stunt coordinator turned director, Waugh previously directed Shot Caller, Angel Has Fallen, and Greenland. The film is written by Adam Mervis, and based on his play of the same name.

Three days before the college football national championship game, star quarterback LeMarcus James (Stephan James) and teammate Emmett Sunday (Alexander Ludwig) ignite a player’s strike declaring they won’t compete until all student-athletes are fairly compensated. With billions of dollars at risk and legacies on the line, the stakes could not be higher. Now, with only hours until kickoff, the head coach (J.K. Simmons) and various power brokers (Lil Rel Howery, Tim Blake Nelson, Andrew Bachelor, Jeffrey Donovan, David Koechner, Kristin Chenoweth, Timothy Olyphant, Uzo Aduba) must race against the clock to protect or destroy the prevailing collegiate athletics system.

The Hating Game is a 2021 romantic comedy directed by Peter Hutchings. It is based on the best-selling novel The Hating Game, by Sally Thorne.

The story of ambitious good girl Lucy Hutton (Lucy Hale) pitted against her cold, efficient work nemesis, Joshua Templeton (Austin Stowell), for a huge promotion at publishing company Bexley & Gamin. Trapped in a shared office, Lucy embarks on a ruthless game of one-upmanship against Josh, a rivalry that turns increasingly complicated by her mounting attraction to him after an innocent elevator ride turns NSFW. Is it love or just another game in their never-ending pursuit for the top job?

Co-starring Samon Daunno, Yasha Jackson, Sean Cullen with Sakina Jaffrey, and Corbin Bernsen.
