BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths

BARDO (False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths) (Spanish: BARDO, falsa crónica de unas cuantas verdades), or simply Bardo, is a 2022 Mexican epic comedy film co-written, produced and directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), The Revenant). The film stars Daniel Giménez Cacho, Griselda Siciliani, Ximena Lamadrid, Iker Sanchez Solano, Andrés Almeida and Francisco Rubio.

The film follows a renowned Mexican journalist and documentary filmmaker who returns home and has to work through an existential crisis as he grapples with his identity, familial relationships, and the folly of his memories.

Bardo premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival in competition for the Golden Lion on September 1, 2022, and is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 18, 2022, before streaming on Netflix on December 16, 2022. Watch the official trailers below.

Avatar: The Way of Water

Avatar: The Way of Water is a 2022 epic science fiction action film from legendary director James Cameron, co-written by Cameron and Josh Friedman, and produced by 20th Century Studios. It is the second film in Cameron's Avatar franchise, following Avatar (2009), and is set more than a decade after the events of the first film. Similar to the trendsetting first film, Cameron, going all out as usual, decided it necessary to develop new technology in order to film performance capture scenes underwater, something never accomplished before, leading to significant delays to allow the crew more time to work on the writing, preproduction, and visual effects.

Jake Sully lives with his newfound family formed on the planet of Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri and the army of the Na'vi race to protect their planet.

Starring Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Kate Winslet.

The Recruit

The Recruit is a 2022 spy adventure television series created by Alexi Hawley for Netflix. Hawley previously created the crime drama series The Rookie, an extremely popular show which is set to return for a 5th season. If her name sounds familiar its because she is the sister of Noah Hawley, the creative mind behind hit shows like Legion and Fargo.

A fledgling CIA lawyer gets caught up in a dangerous game of international politics when a former asset threatens to expose the nature of her relationship with the agency unless they clear her name.

The cast includes Noah Centineo, Aarti Mann, Daniel Quincy Annoh, and Vondie Curtis-Hall.

Nanny

Nanny is a 2022 horror film written and directed by Nikyatu Jusu in her feature-film debut. Nikyatu, who is making a name for herself in the film festival circuit, is a tenure track Assistant Professor in the Film & Video department at George Mason University. The film had its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival winning the U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize, and was soon acquired by Blumhouse and Amazon in a deal rumored to be worth around $7 million.

Immigrant nanny Aisha, piecing together a new life in New York City while caring for the child of an Upper East Side family, is forced to confront a concealed truth that threatens to shatter her precarious American Dream.

The cast includes Anna Diop, Michelle Monaghan, Sinqua Walls, Morgan Spector, and Rose Decker.

Nanny is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on November 23rd courtesy of Amazon Studios, prior to a streaming release December 16th on Prime Video. Watch the official trailer below.

MacGruber

MacGruber is a 2021 comedy TV series based on the 'Saturday Night Live' sketch spoofing the hit 1980s action series 'MacGyver'.

After rotting in prison for over a decade, America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber (Will Forte) is finally released. His mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past—Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth (Mickey Rourke). With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must reassemble his old team, Vicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig) and Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe) in order to defeat the forces of evil.
