Percy Jackson and The Olympians

Percy Jackson and The Olympians is an upcoming American fantasy television series created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg for Disney+. It is based on the book series of the same name by Riordan.

Walker Scobell (The Adam Project) stars as Percy Jackson, alongside Leah Sava Jeffries (Beast) and Aryan Simhadri. Development on the series began by May 2020, following a pitch by Riordan to Disney Branded Television. Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz were announced as showrunners in July 2021, with James Bobin hired to direct the first episode in October. Scobell was cast in the lead role in January 2022, with Jeffries and Simhadri joining the cast in May. By September, Anders Engström and Jet Wilkinson were also set to direct multiple episodes of the series. Filming began in June 2022 in Vancouver, British Columbia and concluded in February 2023, with additional cast members revealed throughout 2022 and 2023.

Percy Jackson and The Olympians is scheduled to premiere on December 20, 2023, with the first season consisting of eight episodes. Watch the official trailer below.

From director Rob Marshall (Chicago, Into the Woods), Mary Poppins Returns is the latest foray into the world of the enigmatic Mary Poppins, a character that was brought to life by Walt Disney himself in 1964 when he personally cast Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins, alongside Dick Van Dyke. Now Mary Poppins is played by Emily Blunt (great choice if you ask me), and the rest of the cast includes Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, and a welcome return for Dick Van Dyke. • When the first Mary Poppins movie was being written, the lead role was offered to Julie Andrews by Walt Disney himself. Andrews told Disney that she was pregnant and couldn't do the movie. Disney wanted Andrews so much that he postponed the production in order to accommodate Andrews' pregnancy. When this movie was announced, the history repeated as Emily Blunt was also pregnant and the movie was postponed to accommodate her pregnancy.
