Thor: Love and Thunder

July 3, 2022

Thor: Love and Thunder is a 2022 superhero film directed by Taika Waititi, and co-written by Waititi and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. The film is based on Stan Lee’s Marvel Comics character Thor, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is a direct sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and the 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Filming took place entirely in Sydney, Australia.

Thor is on a journey unlike anything he's ever faced -- a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher, who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who -- to Thor's surprise -- inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher's vengeance and stop him before it's too late.

The cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, alongside Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Taika Waititi, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Jeff Goldblum, and Vin Diesel.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to debut in theaters on July 8th, as part of Phase Four of the MCU. Watch the official trailers below.

Black Bird

July 3, 2022

Black Bird is a 2022 crime drama series developed by Dennis Lehane, the best-selling author behind several crime thriller novels that made it to the big-screen including Gone Baby Gone, Mystic River, and Shutter Island. It is based on the 2010 autobiographical novel In With The Devil: A Fallen Hero, A Serial Killer, and A Dangerous Bargain for Redemption by James Keene. The first three episodes are directed by Academy Award nominee Michaël R. Roskam (“Bullhead,” “The Drop”), who also serves as executive producer.

When high school football hero and decorated policeman’s son Jimmy Keene is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison, he is given the choice of a lifetime — enter a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane and befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall, or stay where he is and serve his full sentence with no possibility of parole. Keene quickly realizes his only way out is to elicit a confession and find out where the bodies of several young girls are buried before Hall’s appeal goes through. But is this suspected killer telling the truth? Or is it just another tale from a serial liar?

The cast includes Taron Egerton, Paul Walter Hauser, Sepideh Moafi, Greg Kinnear, and Ray Liotta

Black Bird is set to premiere on July 8th, only on Apple TV+. Watch the official trailer below.

The cast includes Amy Adams, April Brinson, Violet Brinson, and Patricia Clarkson. Check out the official trailers below!!

Ted Takes Fun Facts, HBO's Sharp Objects:

  • Amy Adams was previously set to star in Dark Places (2015), but dropped out. This then marks her first collaboration with Gillian Flynn.
  • While writing Sharp Objects, Flynn found that it was initially difficult to maintain the book's "moist," gothic tone", as she didn't want it to feel like something from Entertainment Weekly. As she was working for Entertainment Weekly while she was writing the novel, Flynn wrote the book predominantly on nights and weekends, a few hours at a time.
