From director Justin Lin, who helmed the directors chair for a number of the previous entries, Fast & Furious 9, otherwise known as simply F9, continues a franchise that to be quite honest helped shape my youth as it arrived in theaters in 2001 during my sophomore year in high school.

In this latest entry, Cipher enlists the help of Jakob, Dom's younger brother, to take revenge on Dom and his team.

I remember watching the original over and over again, to the point where I’d just hear the soundtrack in my head, and as I was not yet a licensed driver just thinking how cool it would be to eventually be able to drive a car myself. I also nearly fell into the trap of buying a civic to match the cars they used to jack trucks, but went with an Integra instead. I for one can’t wait for the latest entry to hit theaters this summer after suffering a number of COVID-19 related delays.

Lansky

From director Eytan Rockaway, Lansky is a 2021 crime drama based on the polarizing true story of career gangster Meyer Lansky.

David Stone, a renowned but down-on-his-luck writer, desperately needs a break. His luck changes when he receives a surprise call from Meyer Lansky, the Jewish Godfather of organized crime. The retired gangster spins a dizzying tale, revealing the untold truth about his life as the notorious boss of Murder Inc. and the National Crime Syndicate. For decades, authorities have been trying to locate Lansky’s alleged fortune, hundreds of millions gone. This is their last chance to capture the aging gangster before he dies; but Lansky, as always, is one step ahead of the FBI, sending them on a wild chase, evading and outsmarting them at every turn.

The cast includes Harvey Keitel, Sam Worthington, Annasophia Robb, Minka Kelly, John Magaro, and Jackie Cruz.

The Ice Road

The Ice Road is a 2021 action thriller written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh (Jumanji, The Punisher). It tells the story of a down-on-his-luck ice road trucker who joins a mission across treacherous terrain to deliver rescue equipment in an effort to save a team of miners trapped underground.

The cast includes Liam Neeson, Laurence Fishburne, Benjamin Walker, Amber Midthunder, Marcus Thomas, Holt McCallany, Martin Sensmeier, Matt McCoy, and Matt Salinger.

False Positive

A Hulu original film, False Positive is a 2021 horror thriller from production company A24, directed by John Lee, written by Ilana Glazer and John Lee. After months of trying and failing to get pregnant, Lucy (Ilana Glazer) and Adrian (Justin Theroux) finally find their dream fertility doctor in the illustrious Dr. Hindle (Pierce Brosnan). But after becoming pregnant with a healthy baby girl, Lucy begins to notice something sinister through Hindle's gleaming charm, and she sets out to uncover the unsettling truth about him, and her own “birth story.” As if getting pregnant weren't complicated enough.

The film stars Ilana Glazer, Justin Theroux, Pierce Brosnan, Sophia Bush, and Gretchen Mol.
