Dark Winds: Season 3

March 2, 2025

“Sometimes to stop a monster, you have to become one.”

DARK WINDS is a mystery crime thriller series created by Graham Roland, based on the Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman. George R. R. Martin and Robert Redford are on the list of executive producers, with Redford having previously produced two other adaptions of the Leaphorn & Chee series, The Dark Wind and Skinwalkers. Set in 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley, the series follows Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn of the Tribal Police as he is besieged by a series of seemingly unrelated crimes. The closer he digs to the truth, the more he exposes the wounds of his past. He is joined on this journey by his new deputy, Jim Chee. Chee, too, has old scores to settle from his youth on the reservation. Together, the two men battle the forces of evil, each other and their own personal demons on the path to salvation.

The cast includes Zahn McClarnon, Kiowa Gordon, Noah Emmerich, Jessica Matten, Rainn Wilson, and Deanna Allison.

DARK WINDS: SEASON 3 is set to premiere March 9th on AMC and AMC+. Watch the official trailer below.
