MOANA 2 is a 2024 computer-animated musical family comedy film written and directed by David G. Derrick Jr. in his directorial debut. Derrick Jr. is best known for his work as a storyboard artist on films such as the first Moana, The Lion King (2019), Raya and the Last Dragon (2021), Encanto (2021), and as Head of Story on Strange World (2022). Co-directors also include Jason Hand and Dana Ledoux Miller. The film is produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino, and features music by Grammy® winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foaʻi, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina. It is the 63rd animated feature in the Disney Animation Canon

After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana journeys to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she has ever faced.

The cast includes Auli'i Cravalho as the voice of Moana, Dwayne Johnson as Maui, and Alan Tudyk as Hei Hei.
