DEAD MAN’S WIRE is a 2025 true crime biography drama film directed by Gus Van Sant, from a screenplay by Austin Kolodney. The film premiered out of competition at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival on September 2nd, 2025.
On February 8, 1977, Tony Kiritsis (Bill Skarsgård) entered the office of Richard Hall (Dacre Montgomery), president of the Meridian Mortgage Company, and took him hostage with a sawed-off shotgun wired with a "dead man's wire" from the trigger to Tony's own neck.
The cast includes Bill Skarsgård, Dacre Montgomery, Colman Domingo, Cary Elwes, Myha'la, and Al Pacino.
