DEEP WATER is a 2026 action thriller film directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Deep Blue Sea), from a screenplay by Pete Bridges, Shayne Armstrong, S.P. Krause, and Damien Power. The film, which premiered at the Sarasota Film Festival on April 10th, has been in development since 2014 and is Harlin’s first shark film since Deep Blue Sea back in 1999.
A group of international passengers en route from Los Angeles to Shanghai are forced to make an emergency landing in shark-infested waters. Now they must work together in hopes to overcome the frenzy of sharks drawn to the wreckage.
The cast includes Aaron Eckhart, Angus Sampson, Ben Kingsley, Kelly Gale, and Madeleine West.
