Prehistoric Planet is a 2022 five-part nature documentary streaming television series, produced by the BBC Studios Natural History Unit with Jon Favreau as showrunner, visual effects by Moving Picture Company, and is narrated by natural historian David Attenborough.
The documentary combines award-winning wildlife filmmaking, the latest paleontology learnings and state-of-the-art technology to unveil the spectacular habitats and inhabitants of ancient Earth for a one-of-a-kind immersive experience. Hans Zimmer composed an original soundtrack for the series. It is the first major dinosaur-focused documentary series produced by the BBC since Planet Dinosaur in 2011, and the third overall (the first was Walking with Dinosaurs in 1999).
