• Edgar Wright had been sitting on this idea for a film for many years. His first use of it was a music video he directed for British electronic duo Mint Royale and their track "Blue Song". The video stars Noel Fielding as a music-loving getaway driver for a group of bank robbers, one of whom is Wright's regular Nick Frost.
• First Edgar Wright film to be shot in the United States.
• When Edgar Wright wanted Ansel to be more stern in a shot he used the code words: "Man Driver!" He taught him the "Kubrick look" by showing Ansel a picture on his phone of Malcolm McDowell in character in A Clockwork Orange (1971).

I'm pretty sure it will be corny and over-the-top, but that is fine with me! Plus I am a huge fan of John C. Reilly and Dave Franco so I will absolutely give this one a go. • Rappers EDI Mean and Young Noble from Tupac's group the Outlawz are playing themselves; the rest of the group are played by actors.
• John Singleton was originally attached to direct the film, but the studio and Singleton couldn't agree on how Tupac was to be portrayed in the film. Singleton eventually left the project completely but has since stated that he still hopes to make his own film about Tupac on his own terms some day. 47 Meters Down is a shark attack thriller from director Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door). The premise seems to be very similar to The Shallows which starred Blake Lively, which I did enjoy very much, but hopefully this adds a little something different to set it apart. • An entire replica of Lewis' house was built for the production.
• The fully restored house of Maud Lewis is on permanent display in Halifax at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. The decorated house was saved from deterioration by a group of concerned local citizens, that went through a 25 year-long struggle to maintain the house.
• The project was in development for thirteen years.

Based on a true story, MAUDIE charts the unlikely romance between Maud Lewis, a folk artist who blossoms in later life, and the curmudgeonly recluse, Everett.

The premise may be a bit goofy, but a very talented cast has me excited for this one. The cast includes Bruce Willis, Jason Momoa, John Goodman, and Thomas Middleditch.
