Full disclosure, I had zero knowledge of the apparently extremely popular Lore podcast and when I saw the trailer for the upcoming series pop up on IMDb I immediately assumed it was a animated movie judging by the poster. After reading a few posts on Facebook I realized I couldn't have been more wrong and man am I intrigued by this new Amazon Prime exclusive series! For those of you also unfamiliar with Lore, below is a detailed description courtesy of Deadline:

Critics have been absolutely raving about the film and I will trust pretty much anything A24 is willing to attach themselves to, so i'm pretty excited to check this one out. The cast includes Willem Dafoe, Brooklynn Prince, Valeria Cotto, and Bria Vinaite. A great deal of controversy surrounds the writer/director who is a convicted pedophile due to his 1988 conviction of molesting a 12-year old boy. A great deal of people refuse to watch the film due to the directors past (this is all news to me by the way). Checkered pasts aside, I have seen the first movie quite a few times and I consider it to be pretty well done with a solid cast, decent writing, and a very creepy freak of nature trying to dismember everything in his path. This new one will be low-budget but it think it still has the potential to be pretty good. The cast includes Meg Foster, Gina Philips, Jonathan Breck, and Carrie Lazar. I was obsessed with Liman's Edge of Tomorrow, also starring Cruise as well as Emily Blunt (full disclosure she played a big part in the obsession), so I can't wait to see what he does with a story as crazy as this one.
