The Last Duel is a 2021 historical drama directed by Ridley Scott. Based on the book The Last Duel: A True Story of Trial by Combat in Medieval France by Eric Jager, the screenplay is written by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Nicole Holofcener. King Charles VI declares that Knight Jean de Carrouges settle his dispute with his squire by challenging him to a duel. Damon stars in the lead role opposite Adam Driver and Jodie Comer, with Affleck in a supporting role.
The Last Duel had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 10th, 2021 and is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on October 15th, by 20th Century Studios. Watch the official trailer below.
