Oddity

Oddity is a 2024 paranormal horror thriller film written and directed by Damian Mc Carthy. Mc Carthy is known to be a big fan of browsing antique stores and claims to have personally acquired several of the props used in the film. Oddity premiered at South by Southwest on March 8th, 2024, where it won the Audience Award in the Midnighter section at the festival.

After Dani is brutally murdered, her blind occultist twin sister Darcy, goes after those responsible using inherited haunted items as her tools of revenge.

The cast includes Carolyn Bracken, Gwilym Lee, Tadhg Murphy, Caroline Menton, Steve Wall, Jonathan French, and Joe Rooney

Lady in the Lake

Lady in the Lake is a 2024 limited series based on the novel of the same name by Laura Lippman. The author said that with the book she took inspiration from two real-life murders that happened in her youth. The first was the abduction and murder of an 11-year-old girl, and the second was the death of a 33-year-old woman found in the fountain of the Druid Hill Park Reservoir.

In 1960s Baltimore, an investigative journalist working on an unsolved murder clashes with a woman working to advance the agenda of the city's black community. The protagonist ditches her doting husband and big Pikesville home to pursue a career as a newspaper reporter. She becomes obsessed with unraveling the mystery of two separate killings: eleven-year-old Tessie Fine and a bartender named Cleo Sherwood.

The cast includes Natalie Portman, Moses Ingram, Y'lan Noel, Mikey Madison, Sean Ringgold, Brett Gelman, Noah Jupe, and Mike Epps.

Longlegs

Longlegs is a 2024 horror thriller film written and directed by Osgood Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter, Gretel & Hansel).

Lee Harker, a talented new FBI agent, has been assigned to an unsolved case of a serial killer. As the investigation becomes more complicated with occult evidence uncovered, Harker realizes a personal link to the ruthless killer and must act quickly to prevent another family murder.

The cast includes Maika Monroe, Nicolas Cage, Alicia Witt, and Blair Underwood.

Fly Me to the Moon

Fly Me to the Moon is a 2024 romantic comedy drama directed by Greg Berlanti, from a screenplay by Rose Gilroy, and a story by Bill Kirstein and Keenan Flynn.

Brought in to fix NASA’s public image, sparks fly in all directions as marketing maven Kelly Jones (Scarlett Johansson) wreaks havoc on launch director Cole Davis’s (Channing Tatum) already difficult task. When the White House deems the mission too important to fail, Jones is directed to stage a fake moon landing as back-up and the countdown truly begins…

The cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Nick Dillenburg, Anna Garcia, Jim Rash, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Christian Zuber, Donald Elise Watkins, Ray Romano, and Woody Harrelson.

Despicable Me 4

Despicable Me 4 is a 2024 animated comedy film produced by Illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures. It will serve as the sequel to Despicable Me 3 (2017), the fourth main installment, and the sixth installment overall in the Despicable Me franchise. The film is being directed by Chris Renaud, co-directed by Patrick Delage (in his feature directorial debut), produced by Chris Meledandri, and written by Mike White.

Gru faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal (Emmy winner Will Ferrell) and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara), and the family is forced to go on the run.  

The cast of voice actors includes Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Pierre Coffin, Miranda Cosgrove, and Steve Coogan.

MaXXXine

MaXXXine is a 2024 horror slasher written and directed by Ti West. The film is the 3rd in the trilogy and the sequel to X (our full review here), as it follows Mia goth’s character after the events of that film.

In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. However, as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Los Angeles, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.

The cast includes Mia Goth, Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is a 2024 action comedy film directed by Mark Molloy, written by Will Beall, Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten, from a story by Beall. The film marks the fourth installment in the Beverly Hills Cop film series, following Beverly Hills Cop (1984), Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), and Beverly Hills Cop III (1994). Jerry Bruckheimer, Eddie Murphy, Chad Oman, and director Mark Molloy serve as producers on the film.

Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is back on the beat in Beverly Hills. After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.

A Quiet Place: Day One is a 2024 post-apocalyptic horror film written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, based on an original story by John Krasinski and Sarnoski. It is intended to be a spin-off prequel, and the third overall installment of the A Quiet Place film series.

When New York City comes under attack from an alien invasion, a woman and other survivors try to find a way to safety. They soon learn that they must remain absolutely silent as the mysterious creatures are drawn to the slightest sound.

The cast includes Lupita Nyong'o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou, and Denis O'Hare.

Horizon: An American Saga

Horizon: An American Saga is a 2024 two-part American epic Western film co-written, produced, directed by, and starring Kevin Costner.

Families, friends and foes discover the lure of the Old West as the Civil War divides the country.

The cast includes Kevin Costner, Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Jena Malone, Abbey Lee, Michael Rooker, Danny Huston, Luke Wilson, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jeff Fahey, Will Patton, Tatanka Means, Owen Crow Shoe, Ella Hunt, and Jamie Campbell Bower.

The Bear: Season 3

The Bear is a is a critically-acclaimed comedy drama series created by Christopher Storer, with Joanna Calo and Ramy Youssef assisting in directing duties. The first season of the series premiered on June 23rd, 2022 and became an instant hit for FX. Jeremy Allen White, best known for his role as Phillip “Lip” Gallagher in the comedy drama series Shameless, is the star of the series.

After opening their revamped fine dining restaurant, the staffers experience tension as they face the pressure of delivering excellent service and food.

The series is about food, family and the insanity of the grind. It’s a losing battle every day in the restaurant business, and as Carmy pushes himself harder than ever and demands excellence from his crew, they do their best to match his intensity. Their quest for culinary excellence propels them to new levels and stresses the bonds that hold the restaurant together.

The full cast includes Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson.

Fancy Dance

Fancy Dance is a 2023 drama film directed by Erica Tremblay in her feature narrative directorial debut, from a screenplay by Tremblay and Miciana Alise. The film premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2023.

Since her sister’s disappearance, Jax (Lily Gladstone) has cared for her niece Roki (Isabel Deroy-Olson) by scraping by on the Seneca-Cayuga reservation in Oklahoma. Every spare minute goes into finding her missing sister while also helping Roki prepare for an upcoming powwow. At the risk of Jax losing custody to Roki’s grandfather, Frank (Shea Whigham), the pair hit the road and scour the backcountry to track down Roki’s mother in time for the powwow. What begins as a search gradually turns into a far deeper investigation into the complexities and contradictions of Indigenous women moving through a colonized world while at the mercy of a failed justice system.

The cast includes Lily Gladstone, Isabel DeRoy-Olson, Shea Whigham, Ryan Begay, Crystle Lightning, and Audrey Wasilewski.

Janet Planet

In rural Western Massachusetts, 11-year-old Lacy spends the summer of 1991 at home, enthralled by her own imagination and the attention of her mother, Janet. As the months pass, three visitors enter their orbit, all captivated by Janet.

The cast includes Julianne Nicholson, Zoe Ziegler, Elias Koteas, Will Patton, and Sophie Okonedo.

A Family Affair is a 2024 romantic comedy film directed by Richard LaGravenese, and written by Carrie Solomon. It was originally scheduled to release in November 2023 but was delayed due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.

A young woman named Zara works as an assistant for movie star Chris Cole — that is, until Chris falls in love with her mother.

The cast includes Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, Joey King, Liza Koshy, Kathy Bates, and Shirley MacLaine.

American social psychologist Ben Monroe investigates a local cult connected to a disturbing event, while his daughter becomes embroiled with a mysterious local boy.

Late Bloomers

Late Bloomers is a 2023 American coming-of-age comedy drama film, directed by Lisa Steen in her directorial debut, from a screenplay by Anna Greenfield. The film had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 10, 2023.

Louise, an aimless twenty-something musician who is recently single, is injured when she drunkenly breaks her hip. The subsequent physical therapy sees her associate with people twice her age, and she meets Antonina, a Polish lady who speaks no English, and is hired to be her caretaker.

The cast includes Karen Gillan, Margaret Sophie Stein, Jermaine Fowler, Talia Balsam, and Kevin Nealon.

The Bikeriders

The Bikeriders is a 2023 drama film written and directed by Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Mud). It tells a fictional story inspired by the 1968 photo book of the same name by Danny Lyon and stars an ensemble cast that includes Jodie Comer (Killing Eve, The Last Duel), Austin Butler (Elvis), Tom Hardy (Inception, Mad Max: Fury Road), Michael Shannon (Man of Steel, Knives Out), Mike Faist (West Side Story), and Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead). The film premiered at the 50th Telluride Film Festival on August 31, 2023.

Kathy (Comer), a strong-willed member of the Vandals who's married to a wild, reckless bike rider named Benny (Butler), recounts the Vandals' evolution over the course of a decade, beginning as a local club of outsiders united by good times, rumbling bikes, and respect for their strong, steady leader Johnny (Hardy). Over the years, Kathy tries her best to navigate her husband's untamed nature and his allegiance to Johnny, with whom she feels she must compete for Benny's attention. As life in the Vandals gets more dangerous, and the club threatens to become a more sinister gang, Kathy, Benny, and Johnny are forced to make choices about their loyalty to the club and to each other.

When 93-year-old Thelma Post gets duped by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson, she sets out on a treacherous quest across the city to reclaim what was taken from her.

Kinds of Kindness (originally titled And) is a 2024 anthology film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster, Poor Things), from a screenplay he co-wrote with Efthimis Filippou.

A triptych fable following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.

The cast includes Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer.
