IT’S WHAT’S INSIDE is a 2024 science fiction black comedy horror film written and directed by Greg Jardin. The film had its world premiere in the Midnight section at the Sundance Film Festival on January 19th, 2024.

A group of friends gather for a pre-wedding party that descends into an existential nightmare when an estranged friend arrives with a mysterious game that awakens long-hidden secrets, desires, and grudges.

The cast includes Brittany O'Grady, James Morosini, Gavin Leatherwood, Nina Bloomgarden, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Reina Hardesty, Devon Terrell, David W. Thompson, and Madison Davenport.

The Outrun

The Outrun is a 2024 drama film directed by Nora Fingscheidt from a screenplay she co-wrote with Amy Liptrot, and a story the two co-wrote with Daisy Lewis, based on the 2016 memoir of the same name by Liptrot. A co-production between the United Kingdom and Germany, the film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival on January 19th, 2024.

After more than a decade of living life on the edge in London, where she both found and lost love, Rona (Saoirse Ronan) – now 30 – attempts to come to terms with her troubled past. As she reconnects with the dramatic landscape where she grew up, memories of her traumatic childhood merge with more recent challenging events that have set her on the path to recovery.

The cast includes Saoirse Ronan, Paapa Essiedu, Nabil Elouahabi, Izuka Hoyle, Lauren Lyle, Saskia Reeves, and Stephen Dillane.

White Bird

White Bird: A Wonder Story is a 2023 coming-of-age war drama film from director Marc Forster (Finding Neverland, Christopher Robin) and screenwriter Mark Bomback, and based on R.J. Palacio’s book, White Bird: A Wonder Story, the follow-up to the uplifting book-turned-film Wonder (2017).

Julian has struggled to belong ever since he was expelled from his former school for his treatment of Auggie Pullman. To transform his life, Julian’s grandmother (Helen Mirren) finally reveals to Julian her own story of courage — during her youth in Nazi-occupied France, a boy shelters her from mortal danger. They find first love in a stunning, magical world of their own creation, while the boy’s mother (Gillian Anderson) risks everything to keep her safe.

The cast includes Ariella Glaser, Orlando Schwerdt, Bryce Gheisar, Gillian Anderson, and Helen Mirren.

HOLD YOUR BREATH is a 2024 horror thriller film directed by Will Joines and Karrie Crouse, from a screenplay by Karrie Crouse.

In 1930s Oklahoma amid the region's horrific dust storms, a woman is convinced that a sinister presence is threatening her family.

The cast includes Sarah Paulson, Annaleigh Ashford, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amiah Miller, and Bill Heck.

The Wild Robot

THW WILD ROBOT is a 2024 animated science-fiction adventure film based on the award-winning book series of the same name by Peter Brown, produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures. The film was written and directed by three-time Oscar® nominee Chris Sanders—the writer-director of DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon, The Croods, and Disney’s Lilo & Stitch—and is produced by Jeff Hermann (DreamWorks Animation’s The Boss Baby 2: Family Business; co-producer, Kung Fu Panda franchise). 

After a shipwreck, an intelligent robot called Roz (voiced by Lupita Nyong'o) is stranded on an uninhabited island. To survive the harsh environment, Roz bonds with the island's animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose.

The cast of voice actors Lupita Nyong'o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O'Hara, Bill Nighy, Kit Connor, Stephanie Hsu, Mark Hamill, Matt Berry, and Ving Rhames.

Megalopolis

MEGALOPOLIS is a 2024 epic science fiction drama film written, directed, and produced by Francis Ford Coppola. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 16, 2024.

A longtime passion project for Coppola, who first conceived the idea for the film in 1977 and actively started developing it in 1983, Megalopolis underwent significant delays and numerous cancellations over the years. Coppola revived the project in 2019 by spending $120 million of his own money on the film. Filming took place from November 2022 to March 2023. The film is Coppola's first directorial effort since Twixt (2011), marking his longest gap between films.

An accident destroys a decaying New York City-like metropolis. Cesar Catilina, an idealist architect with the power to control time, aims to rebuild the city as a sustainable utopia, but is opposed by corrupt mayor Franklyn Cicero, who remains committed to a regressive status quo. Torn between them is Franklyn's socialite daughter, Julia, who, tired of the influence she inherited, searches for her life's meaning.

The cast includes Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Jason Schwartzman, Talia Shire, Grace VanderWaal, Laurence Fishburne, Kathryn Hunter, and Dustin Hoffman.

Azrael

AZRAEL is a 2024 post-apocalyptic action horror thriller film directed by E.L. Katz and written by Simon Barrett. It premiered at the 2024 South by Southwest festival on March 9th, 2024.

Many years following the apocalypse, a devout cult of mute zealots hunts down Azrael (Samara Weaving), a young woman who escaped her own imprisonment- and she will stop at nothing to ensure her own survival.

Apartment 7A

APARTMENT 7A is a 2024 psychological thriller film directed by Natalie Erika James from a screenplay she co-wrote with Christian White and Skylar James. It is intended to serve as a prequel to Rosemary's Baby (1968) and the third film in the Rosemary's Baby franchise. The film premiered at Fantastic Fest on September 20th.

A struggling dancer finds herself drawn into dark forces by a peculiar couple promising her fame.

The cast includes Julia Garner (Ozark), Dianne Wiest (Mayor of Kingstown), Jim Sturgess, and Kevin McNally.

Nobody Wants This

NOBODY WANTS THIS is a 2024 romantic comedy series created by Erin Foster, loosely based on her real-life experiences.

An agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi on the rebound walk into a party. When they walk out — together — the unlikely pair, Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody), can tell there is something between them. But also potentially between them, with their differing outlooks on life, all of the modern obstacles to love, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families — including her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe) and his brother Sasha (Timothy Simons).

Wolfs

WOLFS is a 2024 action comedy thriller film written and directed by Jon Watts, best known for the most recent Spider-Man films including Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), and No Way Home (2021). It stars and is co-produced by George Clooney and Brad Pitt, working together for the first time in over 15 years.. Following their partnership on Napoleon, Apple entered another agreement with Sony Pictures Releasing to distribute the film in theaters prior to releasing on Apple TV+.

A professional fixer (George Clooney) is hired to cover up a high profile crime, but when a second fixer (Brad Pitt) shows up the two “lone wolves” are forced to work together as their night quickly spirals out of control.

The cast includes George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan.

Killer Heat

KILLER HEAT is a 2024 crime mystery drama film directed by Philippe Lacôte and produced by Brad Weston, the film is based on Jo Nesbø’s short story "The Jealousy Man".

On a remote Greek island, twin brothers (Richard Madden) are caught in a violent love triangle. A damaged detective known as “The Jealousy Man” (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is brought in to investigate the case.

The cast includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley and Richard Madden.

REZ BALL is a 2024 coming-of-age sports drama film written and directed by Sydney Freeland, from a screenplay by Freeland and Sterlin Harjo (co-creator of Reservation Dogs), based on the The New York Times journalist Michael Powell's nonfiction sports novel Canyon Dreams. LeBron James is a producer on the project.

The story of the Chuska Warriors - a high school basketball team rich in Native American heritage. After losing their star player, the team must come together like never before to keep their state championship dreams alive.

The cast includes Jessica Matten, Julia Jones, Amber Midthunder, and Kiowa Gordon.

A Different Man is a 2024 black comedy psychological thriller film written and directed by Aaron Schimberg. The film premiered at Sundance on January 21, 2024, and it is scheduled to be released in the United States on September 20, 2024.

Aspiring actor Edward undergoes a radical medical procedure to drastically transform his appearance. But his new dream face quickly turns into a nightmare, as he loses out on the role he was born to play and becomes obsessed with reclaiming what was lost.

The cast includes Sebastian Stan, Renate Reinsve, Adam Pearson, Miles G. Jackson, Patrick Wang, and Neal Davidson.

On August 20, 1989, José and Kitty Menendez were brutally murdered in their Beverly Hills home. MONSTERS: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story dives into the historic case that took the world by storm, paved the way for audiences’ modern-day fascination with true crime, and in return asks those audiences: Who are the real monsters? The series explores the complex dynamics within the Menendez family, and whether the brothers were troubled individuals acting out of fear and desperation due to years of abuse, or calculating killers driven by financial gain and greed.

Gunner, a special forces soldier who has witnessed the darkest side of country and combat, is forced back into the field of battle to save his niece, who is being held in South America. As the fight intensifies, Gunner and his team discover that her disappearance is part of a corrupt private operation that hits way too close to home.

Transformers One

TRANSFORMERS ONE is a 2024 animated science fiction film based on Hasbro's Transformers toy line. Directed by Josh Cooley and written by Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari and Bobby Rubio, the ensemble voice cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Jon Hamm, Laurence Fishburne, and Steve Buscemi. The film is described as an "origin story" set on the planet Cybertron and will center on the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron.

The untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever.

NEVER LET GO is a 2024 survival horror thriller film directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, The Other Side of the Door) from a screenplay by Kevin Coughlin and Ryan Grassby.

A family consisting of a mother and her twin sons has suffered from the torment of a malicious spirit for many years. However, when one of the boys starts to doubt the existence of the evil, the family's sacred bond is broken, leading to a dangerous fight for survival.

The cast includes Halle Berry, Percy Daggs IV, and Anthony B. Jenkins.

The Penguin

The Penguin is a 2024 television limited series created by Lauren LeFranc for the streaming service Max. Based on the DC Comics character Penguin, it is a spin-off from the film The Batman (2022) that explores the Penguin's rise to power in Gotham City's criminal underworld. The series is produced by 6th & Idaho, DC Studios, and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with LeFranc serving as showrunner.

Colin Farrell stars as the Penguin, reprising his role from The Batman, alongside Cristin Milioti (The Wolf of Wall Street, Palm Springs). Development was underway by September 2021, with LeFranc attached as writer and Farrell soon set to reprise his role. HBO Max ordered the series shortly after the film's March 2022 release, and Craig Zobel (The Hunt) joined to direct the first three episodes in October. Filming began in March 2023 in New York before it was suspended in June due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike.

The Penguin is scheduled to be released on Max September 19th and will consist of eight episodes. Watch the official trailers below.
