Venom: The Last Dance

VENOM: THE LAST DANCE is a 2024 superhero film written and directed by Kelly Marcel, from a story by Marcel and Tom Hardy.​​ Featuring the Marvel Comics character Venom, the film is produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is intended to be the sequel to Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) and the fifth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU).

Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie's last dance.

The cast includes ​Tom Hardy, ​Chiwetel Ejiofor, ​Juno Temple, ​Rhys Ifans, ​Peggy Lu, ​Alanna Ubach, and ​Stephen Graham.

We Live In Time

We Live In Time is a 2024 romance comedy drama film directed by John Crowley, the man behind the hit 2015 film Brooklyn, from a screenplay by Nick Payne (The Crown, The Last Letter From Your Lover). The film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. At Cannes Film Festival in 2023, the Paris-based film production and distribution company StudioCanal sold the movie to A24 for U.S. distribution.

Almut (Florence Pugh) and Tobias (Andrew Garfield) are brought together in a surprise encounter that changes their lives. Through snapshots of their life together -- falling for each other, building a home, becoming a family -- a difficult truth is revealed that rocks its foundation. As they embark on a path challenged by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken, in filmmaker John Crowley's decade-spanning, deeply moving romance.

The cast includes Andrew Garfield, Florence Pugh, Adam James, Marama Corlett, Aoife Hinds, Nikhil Parmar, Heather Craney, and Kara Lynch.

Conclave

CONCLAVE is a 2024 mystery thriller film directed by Edward Berger and written by Peter Straughan, based on the 2016 novel by Robert Harris. Conclave premiered at the 51st Telluride Film Festival on August 30th, 2024.

Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with one of the world's most secretive and ancient events -- participating in the selection of a new pope. Surrounded by powerful religious leaders in the halls of the Vatican, he soon uncovers a trail of deep secrets that could shake the very foundation of the Roman Catholic Church.

The cast includes Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, Sergio Castellitto, and Isabella Rossellini.

SMILE 2 is a 2024 horror thriller film written and directed by Parker Finn, the man who brought us the 2022 sleeper hit, Smile (our full review here).

Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her dark past to regain control of her life before it spirals out of control.

Anora

ANORA is a 2024 comedy drama film written, directed and edited by Sean Baker. The film premiered on May 21, 2024 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 24th. 2024, where it won the Palme d'Or, the first American film to do so since 2011's The Tree of Life.

Anora (Mikey Madison), a sex worker from Brooklyn, gets her chance at a Cinderella story when she meets and marries the son of an oligarch. Once the news reaches Russia, her fairytale is threatened as the parents set out for New York to get the marriage annulled.

The full cast includes Mikey Madison, Mark Eydelshteyn, Yura Borisov, Karren Karagulian, Vache Tovmasyan, and Aleksei Serebryakov.

Thrust into the world of modern parenthood, Goodrich leans on his daughter from his first marriage, Grace (Mila Kunis), as he ultimately evolves into the father Grace never had.

Woman of the Hour

WOMAN OF THE HOUR is a 2024 true crime thriller film directed by Anna Kendrick in her directorial debut, and written by Ian MacAllister McDonald. It is based on the life of serial killer Rodney Alcala, who in 1978 appeared on the television show The Dating Game in the midst of his murder spree.

In 1978, serial killer Rodney Alcala appeared on The Dating Game and won a date with bachelorette Cheryl Bradshaw (Anna Kendrick). At the time, Alcala had murdered five women, and his strange facade during the episode later nicknamed him "The Dating Game Killer".

The cast includes Anna Kendrick, Daniel Zovatto, Nicolette Robinson, Tony Hale, Kathryn Gallagher, and Peter Holmes.

Shrinking: Season 2

SHRINKING is a comedy drama television series created by Brett Goldstein, Bill Lawrence and Jason Segel. The first season made its debut in 2023 and received rave reviews.

A grieving therapist (Jason Segal) starts to break the rules by telling his clients exactly what he thinks. Jimmy has lost his wife and wants to try a new approach to his loss, but it is unclear how this will help others.

Shrinking stars Emmy-Award nominee Jason Segel and Multi-Award winner Harrison Ford, and was created by Emmy Award winners Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso) and Segel. Additional stars include Emmy-Award nominee Christa Miller, Emmy-Award nominee Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley.

Two criminal twin brothers (Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage), one trying to reform, embark on a dangerous heist road trip. Facing legal troubles, gunfights, and family drama, they must reconcile their differences before their mission leads to self-destruction.

Set in 1975, its plot chronicles the events leading to the premiere of NBC's Saturday Night, later known as Saturday Night Live.

Terrifier 3

TERRIFIER 3 is a 2024 Christmas slasher film written and directed by Damien Leone. It stars Lauren LaVera, Elliott Fullam, David Howard Thornton, and Samantha Scaffidi, who reprise their roles from prior films. The film is a sequel to Terrifier 2 (2022), and is the fourth feature-length film to include the Art the Clown character.

Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) is set to unleash another round of chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.

The Apprentice

THE APPRENTICE is a 2024 biographical historical drama film directed by Ali Abbasi and written by Gabriel Sherman. The film had its world premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 20, 2024, and is scheduled for an October 11 release in the United States.

A young Donald Trump (Sebastian Stan), eager to make his name as a hungry second son of a wealthy family in 1970s New York, comes under the spell of Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong), the cutthroat attorney who would help create the Donald Trump we know today. Cohn sees in Trump the perfect protégé—someone with raw ambition, a hunger for success, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to win.

The cast includes Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Strong, Maria Bakalova, Martin Donovan, Charlie Carrick, Mark Rendall, and Joe Pingue.

Piece by Piece

PIECE BY PIECE is a 2024 animated biographical film co-produced and directed by Morgan Neville. It follows the life and career of American singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams, who stars in the film, through the lens of Lego animation. Produced by The Lego Group, Tremolo Productions, Williams' I Am Other, Pure Imagination Studios and Tongal, Piece by Piece will mark the fifth theatrical Lego-based film and the first under Universal Pictures's run of their film rights.

Alongside Williams and Neville, the film stars the voices of Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, and Snoop Dogg.

Joker: Folie à Deux

Joker: Folie à Deux (or Joker 2) is a 2024 musical psychological thriller film directed by Todd Phillips, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver, and is the direct sequel to the 2019 film Joker. The film is produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios in association with Joint Effort.

Joker was initially conceived as a standalone film, although Warner Bros. intended for it to launch a DC Black film series. By August 2019, Phillips had expressed interest in making a sequel, although he reiterated that Joker was not set up to have one. Phoenix hinted about reprising his role in October 2019. A sequel officially entered development in June 2022, with Gaga and Beetz joining later that year. Principal photography took place in Los Angeles, New York City, and Belleville, New Jersey, from December 2022 to April 2023.

The cast includes Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, Zazie Beetz, Steve Coogan, Brendan Gleeson, and Catherine Keener.

SALEM’S LOT is a 2024 supernatural horror film written and directed by Gary Dauberman, based on Stephen King's 1975 novel of the same name. Produced by New Line Cinema, Atomic Monster, The Wolper Organization, and Vertigo Entertainment. The film is scheduled to premiere as the opening film at the Beyond Fest on September 25, 2024.

Ben Mears is a writer who returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem's Lot in search of inspiration, only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a vampire, leading him to band together with a ragtag group to fight it.

The Outrun

The Outrun is a 2024 drama film directed by Nora Fingscheidt from a screenplay she co-wrote with Amy Liptrot, and a story the two co-wrote with Daisy Lewis, based on the 2016 memoir of the same name by Liptrot. A co-production between the United Kingdom and Germany, the film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival on January 19th, 2024.

After more than a decade of living life on the edge in London, where she both found and lost love, Rona (Saoirse Ronan) – now 30 – attempts to come to terms with her troubled past. As she reconnects with the dramatic landscape where she grew up, memories of her traumatic childhood merge with more recent challenging events that have set her on the path to recovery.
