Zack Snyder's Justice League 'Snyder Cut' Finally Revealed And Fans Are Losing Their Minds

August 24, 2020

Listen, we all had our issues with Justice League - and don’t even get me started on BvS. The fact of the matter is DC continues to struggle compared to big brother Marvel, and one constant seems to rear its ugly head every. single. time a big DC movie releases which is the fact that a better version exists but couldn’t be released for this reason or another. I mean how frustrating is it when a movie you have been waiting years for finally arrives and they are like “sorry we couldn’t release the really good version bit this should hold you over for now”. So then you just end up buying the extended cut Blu-ray when it releases - cold move DC, cold move indeed.

Zack Snyder has been vocal for some time now saying he had a special version of the film fans would go crazy for and he was right - the Snyder cut is basically Haribo Gummi Bears for DC fanboys. Fans have been asking for more Cyborg as his story seemed to be sort of glazed over in the original film and Snyder has confirmed that his origin story is the heart of this new version of the film. Snyder was quoted as saying that by the end of the Snyder Cut Cyborg is the glue that holds the team together, and he is thrilled for fans to experience it. I am all for this personally, I mean you have this stud football player Victor Stone who gets into a major car accident and is on then brink of death - turning him into a cyborg to save his life seems like the logical course of action, right? I couldn’t agree more.

I still have my issues with Ben Affleck as Batman which still seems off to me, but this trailer seems to bring back that gritty feel we were hoping for from the beginning so I am looking forward to this. Plus what’s with all of the hate for this being an HBO Max exclusive? With the success of Watchmen which snagged an insane 26 Emmy nominations, HBO is continuing to lead the way for ‘premium television’ and makes perfect sense as a landing spot. Plus, I like the idea of a 4-part “series” consisting of 4 hour-long segments - I can at least rationalize watching a 4-hour movie.

Watch the Snyder Cut of Justice League now with the fitting soundtrack of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”, set to hit HBO Max in 2021.
