A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS is a 2026 fantasy drama television series created by Ira Parker and George R. R. Martin. The series is a prequel to Game of Thrones (2011–2019) and is set to be the third television series in Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire franchise and is an adaptation of the Tales of Dunk and Egg novels.
A century before GOT, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his squire, Egg, wandered through Westeros while the Targaryen dynasty ruled the Iron Throne, and dragons were still remembered. Great destinies and enemies await the incomparable friends.
The cast includes Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall ("Dunk"), the titular hedge knight, and Dexter Sol Ansell as his squire Aegon Targaryen ("Egg").
A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS is set to premiere on January 18th, 2026, on HBO and will consist of six episodes. A 2nd season has already been confirmed to release in 2027. Watch the official trailer below.
