THEY WILL KILL YOU is a 2026 action comedy horror film directed by Kirill Sokolov, and written by Sokolov and Alex Litvak. The film is produced by Andy Muschietti (Mama, It, It: Chapter 2) Barbara Muschietti, and Dan Kagan, and executive produced by Russell Ackerman, John Schoenfelder, Carl Hampe, Litvak and Sokolov.
A woman (Zazie Beetz) takes a housekeeping job in a mysterious New York City high-rise. As she unravels the building's dark history of disappearances, she uncovers links to a possible satanic cult.
The cast includes Zazie Beetz, Myha’La, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette.

THEY WILL KILL YOU released at an interesting time in my opinion because it came out just a week after the release of READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME (our full review and trailer here), which felt very similar but also had an established following considering it was a sequel. With that being said, within I would say the first 20 minutes or so there was much more to this film than I originally realized. I need to give a massive kudos to the marketing team because although the trailers were absolutely fantastic, they still somehow kept the primary theme of the film hidden. This is not easy task especially this day and age, so I need to give credit where credit is due.
Now obviously I can only say so much about the film without spoiling it myself which would be a massive A-hole move on my part, so I will steer clear of doing that and instead do my best to share my thoughts relative to peoples expectations or just my experience as a whole. I thought THEY WILL KILL YOU was a blast to watch in theaters. The film has sort of a gritty almost comic book feel to it, with your obvious villain from the past that sets up what is to come with twists and turns along the way.
The story has so many more layers to it compared to what the trailer shows which is obviously a good thing, but what the trailer does a tremendous job of is establishing the over-the-top and gloriously satisfying violence the film serves up. If you’re in the mood for gratuitous violence, action, humor, and a surprisingly good story, THEY WILL KILL YOU is the film for you.
THEY WILL KILL YOU does not hold back with the action sequences, and some of the kills are just incredible. The opening fight scene that is shown int he trailer had me ready to jump up and down, and this was just the tip of the iceberg. I could try and compare the overall feel and direction of the film to other franchises out there, but it may give things away and that is a risk I am not willing to take.
Just trust me when I say that THEY WILL KILL YOU is action-packed, extremely bloody, hilarious, and endlessly entertaining. I thought the cast was great as well with Zazie Beets killing it as per usual, pun intended, as well as other notables performances from Patricia Arquette, Paterson Joseph, and fan-favorite bad guy Tom Felton.
THE VERDICT
A wild and creative horror thriller with a touch of dark humor that brings something fresh and original to the genre, THEY WILL KILL YOU does not disappoint as it serves up over-the-top and gloriously satisfying violence.
