Dual is a 2022 satirical science fiction thriller film written and directed by Texas native Riley Stearns. Stearns, who was previously married to actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead, most recently wrote and directed the 2019 dark comedy the Art of Self-Defense, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots. Dual premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival on January 22, 2022.
A woman opts for a cloning procedure after she receives a terminal diagnosis but when she recovers her attempts to have her clone decommissioned fail, leading to a court-mandated duel to the death.
The cast includes Karen Gillan, Beulah Koale, Theo James, and Aaron Paul.
