LANTERNS is a 2026 superhero crime drama television series created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King for HBO, based on the DC Comics Green Lantern characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart. It will be the third television series in the DC Universe (DCU). The series was produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television with Mundy serving as showrunner.
Green Lanterns are intergalactic peacekeepers who wear rings that give them extraordinary powers. The series follows experienced Lantern Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) as they investigate a murder in Nebraska, which leads them to darker mysteries and reckonings.
The cast includes Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, and Nathan Fillion.
LANTERNS is set to debut August 16th on HBO Max, and will consist of eight episodes. It will be part of the DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Watch the official trailers below.
