So you flew threw the new season of Ozark in record time and are left wondering now what, right? We get it and you are NOT alone.
The hit Netflix crime drama starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney is addicting edge-of-your seat entertainment, and like any addict coming back down from a memorable high, you need more. - and fast!
Your friends at Ted Takes have put together a list of 10 shows any fan of Ozark will happily binge in no time, and even ranked them in order to make things easier for you. Enjoy!
#1 - Breaking Bad
Obviously Breaking Bad is #1, what else were you expecting? If you haven’t seen this show yet you must be living under a rock, but that’s none of our business. This is one of the best shows available when it comes to storytelling and character development and it is an absolute must-watch. I’ve been through the entire series 3 times already.
Available On: Netflix
#2 - Fargo
The movie Fargo is a cult classic and something I have seen easily 20 times, maybe more. I just can’t get enough of the accent. FX developed an anthology series based on the movie with showrunner Noah Hawley handling things, and it is pure gold. Each season is stacked with talent and is amazing from start to finish. If you have Hulu, definitely check this one out.
Available On: Hulu
#3 - Justified
If you are anything like me and can appreciate the presence of a badass leading man in a fun shoot first and ask questions later scenario, Justified is for you. U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens, played by Timothy Olyphant, is the guy you want to name your next kid after - and trust me when I say you won’t be the first to do it. Enjoy the wild ride.
Available On: Hulu
#4 - Bloodline
Bloodline is an immersive drama set in the Florida Keys lead by Kyle Chandler and Ben Mendelsohn. The show creates tension like very few shows can and includes a ton of complicated characters making you question who it is you should be rooting for. Enjoy your time with the “not so perfect” Rayburn family.
Available On: Netflix
#5 - Mindhunter
We all have a sick and twister fascination with serial killers, which is why they have made like 10 documentaries or shows based on Ted Bundy, one of the most heralded and ruthless of them all. What makes Mindhunter so interesting is not only is it based on true events, but the show takes you right through the time when society learned that such a thing as a serial killer even existed. Well written, well acted, and just damn all around enjoyable.
Available On: Netflix
#6 - The Sinner
You might not realize this but The Sinner is a very, very dark show right from the beginning. I mean if you can appreciate a good old fashioned “holy f**k did that really just happen?!” moment then this show is for you. So what are you waiting for?
Available On: Netflix, Prime Video
#7 - Bates Motel
Well-written and often times very uncomfortable, Bates Motel is a must-watch for fans of the cult classic film. With stellar performances from leads Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore and plenty of emotional baggage to sort through, this show will keep you wanting more.
Available On: Netflix
#8 - Narcos
Narcos follows the rise of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, and with stellar writing and an impressive cast from top to bottom, this is a show worth getting into. Did you know a guy who works for the show was killed in Mexico scouting locations? It’s true, this show is bananas.
Available On: Netflix
#9 - Arrested Development
Jason Bateman plays the lead role in this addictive comedy, so I think it’s obvious why Ozark fans would enjoy it. Oh and spoiler alert, it’s not a crime drama, not even close.
Available On: Netflix, Hulu
#10 - Peaky Blinders
Fans of the HBO series Boardwalk Empire fill fall in love with Peaky Blinders right away, but those of you who just simply can’t get enough of brutal and unapologetic violence, this is a show for you as well.
Available On: Netflix
