Swarm

Swarm is a 2023 horror thriller television series created by Donald Glover and Janine Nabers. The series is set as the Opening Night TV Premiere at the SXSW Film & TV Festival in Austin, Texas on March 10th.

The series tells the story of Dre, a young woman who is obsessed with a fictional pop star. The show is a dive into Dre's life, her fandom, and how it takes her to dark, unexpected places.

Starring Dominique Fishback, the series will also feature guest stars Chlöe Bailey as Dre’s sister, Marissa and Damson Idris as Marissa’s boyfriend, Khalid. Additional guest stars include, Rickey Thompson, Paris Jackson, Rory Culkin, Kiersey Clemons, and Byron Bowers.

Moving On

Moving On is a 2022 comedy film written and directed by Paul Weitz. The film premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2022. Roadside Attractions acquired North American rights to the film in late 2022, slating it for a theatrical release early 2023.

Two estranged women reunite to seek revenge against the husband of their recently deceased best friend. Along the way, they learn to make peace with the past and each other.

The cast includes Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Malcolm McDowell, Richard Roundtree, and Catherine Dent.

Wildflower

Wildflower is a 2022 coming-of-age comedy drama directed by Matt Smukler and written by Jana Savage, based on a story from Smukler and Savage. The film was inspired by Smukler's niece, and was originally intended to be a short film before being developed as a feature film. Wildflower premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2022

Bea, the daughter of two intellectually disabled parents, is left comatose during her senior year in high school as she explores various aspects of her life while dealing with an extended family that can’t quite agree on the best way to help.

The cast includes Kiernan Shipka, Dash Mihok, Charlie Plummer, Alexandra Daddario, Reid Scott, Erika Alexander, Samantha Hyde, and Jacki Weaver.

Scream VI

Scream VI is a 2023 slasher film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, with original franchise writer and creator Kevin Williamson returning as executive producer. It will be the sixth installment in the Scream film series and will be a direct sequel to Scream (2022).

Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors attempt to leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

The film stars Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere, and Courteney Cox, Dermot Mulroney, Henry Czerny, Samara Weaving, and Tony Revolori. This is the first film in the franchise where Neve Campbell will not appear as Sidney Prescott, reportedly due to a contract disagreement.

65 is a 2023 science fiction drama thriller written and directed Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the writers behind the hit film A Quiet Place, with Sam Raimi serving as producer.

After a catastrophic crash on an unknown planet, pilot Mills (Adam Driver) quickly discovers he’s actually stranded on Earth…65 million years ago. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive.

Champions

Champions is a 2023 sports comedy film directed by Bobby Farrelly in his solo directorial debut, from a screenplay written by Mark Rizzo. It is an English-language remake of the 2018 Spanish film of the same name.

A former minor-league basketball coach receives a court order to manage a team of players with intellectual disabilities. Despite his doubts, he soon realizes that together they can go further than they ever imagined.

The cast includes Woody Harrelson, Kaitlin Olson, Ernie Hudson, and Cheech Marin.

Luther: The Fallen Sun

Luther: The Fallen Sun is a 2023 crime thriller film directed by Jamie Payne, and written by Neil Cross. It serves as a film continuation of the 2010–19 British television series of the same name. The film stars Idris Elba, who also serves as a producer on the film, reprising his role as John Luther.

A serial killer terrorizes London while disgraced detective John Luther sits behind bars. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary.

The cast includes Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo Andy Serkis, and Dermot Crowley.

Creed III

Creed III is a 2023 sports drama film directed by Michael B. Jordan in his feature directorial debut, based on a screenplay by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin from a story they co-wrote with Ryan Coogler. It is the sequel to Creed II (2018), and the ninth installment in the Rocky franchise. This will be the first film in the franchise without Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa, though he still serves as a producer.

After dominating the boxing world, Adonis has been thriving in his career and family life. When a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy resurfaces, the face off between former friends is more than just a fight.

The cast includes Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors, Wood Harris, Florian Munteanu, and Phylicia Rashad.

Cocaine Bear

Cocaine Bear is a 2023 black comedy thriller film directed and co-produced by Elizabeth Banks, from a screenplay by Jimmy Warden. Inspired by the 1985 true story of a drug runner's plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it, this wild thriller finds an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500-pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and gone on a coke-fueled rampage for more blow... and blood.

The film stars Keri Russell, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Alden Ehrenreich, Matthew Rhys, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Kristofer Hivju, Christian Convery, Brooklynn Prince, Margo Martindale, and the legendary Ray Liotta in his final performance.

We Have A Ghost

We Have A Ghost is a 2023 comedy horror written and directed by Christopher Landon, from a story by Geoff Manaugh. Landon previously directed the 2020 comedy horror Freaky starring Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton, check out our review here, which I really enjoyed. He clearly has a good feel for that unique balance of comedy and horror.

Finding a ghost named Ernest haunting their new home turns Kevin's family into overnight social media sensations. But when Kevin and Ernest investigate the mystery of Ernest's past, they become a target of the CIA.

The cast includes Anthony Mackie, David Harbour, Tig Notaro (Army of the Dead), Jennifer Coolidge (Promising Young Woman), Jahi Di’Allo Winston (Charm City Kings), Erica Ash, Isabella Russo, Niles Fitch, Faith Ford, and Steve Coulter.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a 2022 superhero film directed by Peyton Reed, from a screenplay by Jack Kirby and Jeff Loveness. It is based on Marvel Comics featuring the characters Scott Lang / Ant-Man and Hope Pym / Wasp. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the sequel to Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), and the 31st film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne, along with Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, explore the Quantum Realm, where they interact with strange creatures and embark on an adventure that goes beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.

The cast includes Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, Jonathan Majors, and Randall Park.

Magic Mike’s Last Dance

Magic Mike's Last Dance is a 2023 comedy drama film directed by Steven Soderbergh, written by Reid Carolin, and produced by Channing Tatum. It is the third installment in the Magic Mike trilogy, following Magic Mike (2012) and Magic Mike XXL (2015). Originally intended to be digitally released onto HBO Max, Warner Bros. Pictures opted to give the film a theatrical release following strong test screenings.

Mike takes to the stage again, following a business deal that went bust, leaving him broke and taking bartender gigs in Florida. Mike heads to London with a wealthy socialite who lures him with an offer he can't refuse.

The cast includes Channing Tatum, Salma Hayek, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Caitlin Gerard, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez, and Kylie Shea.

Sharper is an upcoming 2023 American black comedy-drama film by Benjamin Caron, from a screenplay by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka. The film stars Julianne Moore (The Big Lebowski, Boogie Nights), Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Fresh), Justice Smith (Pokémon Detective Pikachu, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Briana Middleton (The Tender Bar), and John Lithgow (The Crown, Bombshell).

A con artist takes on Manhattan's billionaires in a drama that unfolds within the secrets of New York City, from the penthouses of Fifth Avenue to the shadowy corners of Queens. Motivations are suspect and expectations are turned upside down when nothing is as it seems.

Marlowe

Marlowe is a 2022 neo-noir crime thriller film directed by Neil Jordan, and written by William Monahan. It is based on the 2014 novel The Black-Eyed Blonde by John Banville, writing under the pen name Benjamin Black. The film premiered at the 70th San Sebastián International Film Festival on September 24th, 2022.

A gripping noir crime thriller set in late 1930’s Los Angeles, centers around a street-wise, down on his luck detective; Philip Marlowe, played by Liam Neeson, who is hired to find the ex-lover of a glamorous heiress (Diane Kruger), daughter of a well-known movie star (Jessica Lange). The disappearance unearths a web of lies, and soon Marlowe is involved in a dangerous, deadly investigation where everyone involved has something to hide.

The cast includes Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger, Jessica Lange, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje,Alan Cumming, Danny Huston, Ian Hart, Colm Meaney, and Daniela Melchior.

She Came from the Woods is a 2023 coming-of-age horror comedy from director Erik Bloomquist, who co-wrote the script with his brother Carson Bloomquist. The Newington, CT, natives pride themselves on making all of their films right in their home base of New England, under their production company Maineframe Pictures.

In 1987, a group of counselors accidentally unleash a decades’ old evil on the last night of summer camp. As the situation turns bloody, the group is forced to confront what stories are worth telling and what secrets are worth keeping.

Knock at the Cabin

Knock at the Cabin is a 2022 apocalyptic horror film directed and produced by M. Night Shyamalan, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman. It is based on the 2018 novel The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul G. Tremblay, making it the first adaptation of one of his works.

While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.

The film stars Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Kristen Cui, Abby Quinn, and Rupert Grint.

The Amazing Maurice

The Amazing Maurice is a 2022 computer-animated fantasy comedy film directed by Toby Genkel and co-directed by Florian Westermann, from a screenplay by Terry Rossio. It is based on the 2001 novel ‘The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents’ by Terry Pratchett. The film premiered at the Manchester Animation Festival on November 13th, 2022.

Maurice is a sassy, street-smart cat with a sneaky disposition. Together with his band of rats and pied-piper friend Keith, he travels across the countryside, swindling villagers with a staged rat plague. All seems well when the gang sets its sights on a scenic market town, though they quickly realize that something more nefarious is afoot. The town is already plagued by food-snatching rats, a pair of criminals, and a mysterious boss at the heart of the trouble.

The cast includes Hugh Laurie, Emilia Clarke, David Thewlis, Himesh Patel, Gemma Arterton, Joe Sugg, Ariyon Bakare, Julie Atherton, Rob Brydon, Hugh Bonneville, and David Tennant.
