School Spirits

School Spirits is a 2023 teen drama television series created by Megan Trinrud and Nate Trinrud. The series is adapted from the forthcoming graphic novel by the Trinruds and Maria Nguyen.

Maddie is a teen girl stuck in the afterlife investigating her own mysterious disappearance; she goes on a crime-solving journey as she adjusts to school in the afterlife, but the closer she gets to the truth, the more secrets and lies she discovers.

The cast includes Peyton List, Kristian Flores, Milo Manheim, Spencer MacPherson, Kiara Pichardo, Sarah Yarkin, Nick Pugliese, and Rainbow Wedell.

Paint

Paint is a 2023 comedy written and directed by Brit McAdams, and features a character very similar to TV icon Bob Ross, who helmed PBS’ instructional TV program “The Joy of Painting” from 1983 to 1994. Ross passed away in 1995 at 52 years old.

Owen Wilson stars as Carl Nargle, Vermont's #1 public TV painter who is convinced he has it all: a signature perm, custom van, and fans hanging on his every stroke… until a younger, better artist steals everything (and everyone) Carl loves.

The cast includes Owen Wilson, Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, and Ciara Renée

Rye Lane

Rye Lane is a 2023 British romantic comedy-drama film directed by Raine Allen-Miller in her feature directorial debut from a screenplay by Nathan Bryon and Tom Melia. The film stars David Jonsson and Vivian Oparah in the lead roles. Also, with it being set in the South London areas of Peckham and Brixton, the film is titled after the real-life Rye Lane.

Two-twenty-somethings, both reeling from bad break-ups, connect over the course of an eventful day in South London - helping each other deal with their nightmare exes, and potentially restoring their faith in romance.

Rye Lane had its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2023, and was released in the United Kingdom on March 31, 2023, by Searchlight Pictures, before coming to Hulu on March 31, 2023. Watch the official trailer below.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is an upcoming American fantasy action-adventure comedy film co-written and directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley (Vacation, Game Night), based on the tabletop role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons. The film is set in the campaign setting of the Forgotten Realms. The film has no connections to the trilogy released between 2000 and 2012.

The film stars Chris Pine (Star Trek, Hell or High Water), Michelle Rodriguez (Fast & Furious franchise, S.W.A.T.), Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton, The Gray Man), Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Pokémon Detective Pikachu), Sophia Lillis (It, It: Chapter Two), and Hugh Grant (Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Gentlemen).

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on March 31, 2023, by Paramount Pictures. Watch the latest trailer below.

A Thousand and One

A Thousand and One is a 2023 drama film written and directed by A.V. Rockwell. It had its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival on January 22nd, winning the Grand Jury Prize.

Unapologetic and free-spirited Inez kidnaps her six-year-old son Terry from the foster care system. Holding onto their secret and each other, mother and son set out to reclaim their sense of home, identity, and stability, in a rapidly changing New York City.

The cast includes Teyana Taylor, Will Catlett, Josiah Cross, Aven Courtney, and Aaron Kingsley Adetola.

Tetris

Tetris is a 2023 biographical drama thriller film directed by Jon S. Baird (Filth, Vinyl, Stan & Ollie), based on a screenplay from Noah Pink (Filth). The film’s Executive Producer is Iain MacKenzie. Producers include Matthew Vaughn, Gillian Berrie, Claudia Vaughn, Len Blavatnik, and Gregor Cameron.

Based on the true story of American video game salesman Henk Rogers (Taron Egerton) and his discovery of Tetris in 1988. When he sets out to bring the game to the world, he enters a dangerous web of lies and corruption behind the Iron Curtain.

The cast includes Taron Egerton, Nikita Efremov, Toby Jonese, Sofya Lebedeva, Ben Miles, Rick Yune, and Roger Allam.

Murder Mystery 2

Murder Mystery 2 is an American action comedy mystery film directed by Jeremy Garelick, and written by James Vanderbilt. It is a sequel to the 2019 Netflix film Murder Mystery.

After starting their own detective agency, Nick and Audrey Spitz land a career-making case when their billionaire pal is kidnapped from his wedding.

The cast includes Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Mark Strong, Adeel Akhtar, Mélanie Laurent, Jodie Turner-Smith, John Kani, Kuhoo Verma, Dany Boon, Enrique Arce, and Zurin Villanueva.

John Wick: Chapter 4

John Wick: Chapter 4 is a 2023 neo-noir action film directed by Chad Stahelski, and written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, based on characters created by Derek Kolstad. It is the direct sequel to 2019's John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, and the fourth installment in the John Wick film series. Filming took place in Berlin, Paris, Osaka and New York City from June to October 2021.

With the price on his head ever increasing, legendary hit man John Wick takes his fight against the High Table global as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris to Japan to Berlin.

Starring Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, and Ian McShane.

Succession: The Final Season

Succession is a dark comedy drama series created by Jesse Armstrong. It originally premiered June 3rd, 2018, on HBO. The series has received high praise from critics and viewers, and has had three successful seasons so far. It is easily one of my favorite drama series, and you really can’t go wrong with HBO. The 4th and final season of the series is set to premiere at the end of March, 2023.

The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.

The cast includes Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, and Alan Ruck.

A Good Person

A Good Person is a 2023 coming-of-age drama film written, directed, and produced by Zach Braff, the man who brought us the 2004 classic drama Garden State. Braff said in an interview that he wrote the screenplay for the film during the height of the pandemic, and soon after began deciding on who he would like to take on the roles he created.

Allison is a young woman with a wonderful fiance, a blossoming career, and supportive family and friends. However, her world crumbles in the blink of an eye when she survives an unimaginable tragedy, emerging from recovery with an opioid addiction and unresolved grief. In the following years, she forms an unlikely friendship with her would-be father-in-law that gives her a fighting chance to put her life back together and move for

The cast includes Florence Pugh, Morgan Freeman, Zoe Lister Jones, Molly Shannon, Celeste O’Connor, and Chinaza Uche.

Rabbit Hole is a 2023 spy thriller television series created by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra for Paramount+.

Nothing is what it seems when John Weir, a master of deception in the world of corporate espionage, is framed for murder by powerful forces with the ability to influence and control populations.

The cast includes Kiefer Sutherland, Charles Dance, Meta Golding, Enid Graham, Jason Butler Harner, Walt Klink, and Rob Yang.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a 2023 superhero film directed by David F. Sandberg, and written by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan. It is based on the DC Comics character Shazam, and is the sequel to Shazam! (2019), as well as the 12th installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).

Billy Batson and his foster siblings, who transform into superheroes by saying "Shazam!", are forced to get back into action and fight the Daughters of Atlas. They must stop them from using a weapon that could destroy the world.

The cast includes Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Rachel Zegler, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, Lucy Liu, Djimon Hounsou, and Helen Mirren.

Ted Lasso: Season 3

In the third season of Ted Lasso, the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them to finish last in the Premier League and Nate (Nick Mohammed), now hailed as the “wonder kid,” has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United.

In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt). Meanwhile, while Ted (Jason Sudeikis) deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.

Swarm

Swarm is a 2023 horror thriller television series created by Donald Glover and Janine Nabers. The series is set as the Opening Night TV Premiere at the SXSW Film & TV Festival in Austin, Texas on March 10th.

The series tells the story of Dre, a young woman who is obsessed with a fictional pop star. The show is a dive into Dre's life, her fandom, and how it takes her to dark, unexpected places.

Starring Dominique Fishback, the series will also feature guest stars Chlöe Bailey as Dre’s sister, Marissa and Damson Idris as Marissa’s boyfriend, Khalid. Additional guest stars include, Rickey Thompson, Paris Jackson, Rory Culkin, Kiersey Clemons, and Byron Bowers.

Moving On

Moving On is a 2022 comedy film written and directed by Paul Weitz. The film premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2022. Roadside Attractions acquired North American rights to the film in late 2022, slating it for a theatrical release early 2023.

Two estranged women reunite to seek revenge against the husband of their recently deceased best friend. Along the way, they learn to make peace with the past and each other.

The cast includes Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Malcolm McDowell, Richard Roundtree, and Catherine Dent.

Wildflower

Wildflower is a 2022 coming-of-age comedy drama directed by Matt Smukler and written by Jana Savage, based on a story from Smukler and Savage. The film was inspired by Smukler's niece, and was originally intended to be a short film before being developed as a feature film. Wildflower premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2022

Bea, the daughter of two intellectually disabled parents, is left comatose during her senior year in high school as she explores various aspects of her life while dealing with an extended family that can’t quite agree on the best way to help.

The cast includes Kiernan Shipka, Dash Mihok, Charlie Plummer, Alexandra Daddario, Reid Scott, Erika Alexander, Samantha Hyde, and Jacki Weaver.

Scream VI

Scream VI is a 2023 slasher film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, with original franchise writer and creator Kevin Williamson returning as executive producer. It will be the sixth installment in the Scream film series and will be a direct sequel to Scream (2022).

Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors attempt to leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

The film stars Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere, and Courteney Cox, Dermot Mulroney, Henry Czerny, Samara Weaving, and Tony Revolori. This is the first film in the franchise where Neve Campbell will not appear as Sidney Prescott, reportedly due to a contract disagreement.

Champions is a 2023 sports comedy film directed by Bobby Farrelly in his solo directorial debut, from a screenplay written by Mark Rizzo. It is an English-language remake of the 2018 Spanish film of the same name.

A former minor-league basketball coach receives a court order to manage a team of players with intellectual disabilities. Despite his doubts, he soon realizes that together they can go further than they ever imagined.

The cast includes Woody Harrelson, Kaitlin Olson, Ernie Hudson, and Cheech Marin.
