Landman

LANDMAN is a 2024 drama television series created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, based on the podcast Boomtown hosted by Wallace.

A modern-day tale set within the world of oil rigs in West Texas, where "roughnecks and wildcat billionaires are fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.

The cast includes Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter (The Last Victim), Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland (Joker 2), Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville), Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia), Demi Moore (Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Andy Garcia (Expendables franchise), and Michael Peña (End of Watch).

Dune: Prophecy

DUNE: PROPHECY is a 2024 science fiction drama series developed by Diane Ademu-John and Alison Schapker for HBO. The series is a prequel to the film Dune (2021), which was based on the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert. The series is produced by Legendary Television, with Schapker serving as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

Set 10,000 years before the events of DUNE, the series focuses on the origins of the Bene Gesserit, an exclusive and powerful sisterhood who undergo intense physical training and mental conditioning to obtain superhuman abilities; the action in the series taking place some 10,000 years before the events of the film.

The cast includes Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Mark Strong, Jade Anouka, Chris Mason, Jodhi May, Josh Heuston, Tabu, and Charithra Chandran.

Saltburn

Saltburn is a 2023 psychological thriller drama film written, directed, and produced by Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman). The film stars Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Alison Oliver, and Archie Madekwe.

Struggling to find his place at Oxford University, student Oliver Quick (Keoghan) finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Elordi), who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be forgotten.

Saltburn had its world premiere at the 50th Telluride Film Festival on August 31, 2023, and is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on November 17, 2023, and in the United States via a limited theatrical release the same day, before expanding wide on November 22, 2023. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is an upcoming animated streaming television series developed by Bryan Lee O'Malley and BenDavid Grabinski for Netflix. The series is based on the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels written and drawn by O'Malley, with the cast of the 2010 film adaptation reprising their roles.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a 2023 horror slasher film directed by Eli Roth (Hostel, Death Wish) and produced by Roger Birnbaum, from a screenplay written by Roth and Jeff Rendell (Cabin Fever). It is based on Roth's mock trailer of the same name from his film Grindhouse (2007), which Rendell was also a co-writer.

A mysterious serial killer, known only as "John Carver", comes to a small town in Massachusetts with the intention of creating a Thanksgiving carving board out of the town's inhabitants.

The film stars Addison Rae, Patrick Dempsey, Milo Manheim, Gina Gershon, and Rick Hoffman.

Next Goal Wins

Next Goal Wins is a 2023 biographical sports comedy drama directed and co-written by uber-talented Academy Award Winner Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, Thor: Ragnarok), who wrote the screenplay for the film with Iain Morris (Flight of the Conchords, What We Do in the Shadows). Filming took place in Honolulu.

The true story of the American Samoa soccer team, infamous for their brutal 31-0 FIFA loss in 2001. With the World Cup Qualifiers approaching, the team hires down-on-his-luck, maverick coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender) hoping he will turn the world’s worst soccer team around in this heartfelt underdog comedy.

The cast includes Michael Fassbender, Elisabeth Moss, Oscar Kightley, Uli Latukefu, Rachel House, Kaimana, David Fane, Beulah Koale, Chris Alosio, Taika Waititi, Will Arnett, and Rhys Darby.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is an upcoming American science fiction action thriller film directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Michael Lesslie and Michael Arndt, based on the 2020 novel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins.

The film serves as a prequel to The Hunger Games (2012) and is the fifth installment in The Hunger Games film series. It stars Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schafer, Josh Andrés Rivera, Jason Schwartzman, and Viola Davis.

Set 64 years before the first film, its plot follows young Coriolanus Snow (Blyth), his relationship with the Hunger Games tribute Lucy Gray Baird (Zegler), and the events that eventually lead him on the path to becoming the tyrannical leader of Panem.

Trolls Band Together

Trolls Band Together is a 2023 animated musical comedy film directed by Walt Dohm, from a screenplay by Elizabeth Tippet. It is based on Good Luck Trolls dolls by Thomas Dam, and is the sequel to the 2020 film Trolls World Tour, and the 3rd film in the Trolls franchise.

Poppy discovers that Branch and his four brothers were once part of her favorite boy band. When one of his siblings, Floyd, gets kidnapped by a pair of nefarious villains, Branch and Poppy embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd from a fate even worse than pop culture obscurity.

The impressive cast of voice actors includes Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Camila Cabello, Eric André, Troye Sivan, Kid Cudi, Daveed Diggs, RuPaul, Amy Schumer, Andrew Rannells, and Zosia Mamet.

Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain is a 2023 comedy adventure film directed by Paul Briganti (Saturday Night Live), from a screenplay by Ben Marshall, John Higgins, and Martin Herlihy. The film is produced by Judd Apatow and Jimmy Miller.

John Goodman narrates the adventure of Ben, Martin, and John, three childhood friends turned deadbeat co-workers, who fend off hairless bears, desperate park rangers (played by Meg Stalter and X Mayo) and a hypocritical cult leader (Bowen Yang) in the hopes of finding a priceless treasure, only to discover that finding the treasure is the easiest part of their journey.

The full cast includes Martin Herlihy, John Higgins, and Ben Marshall, who also wrote the screenplay, and also stars Conan O’Brien, Nichole Sakura, Bowen Yang, Cedric Yarbrough, Sunita Mani, Megan Stalter, X Mayo, and the voice of John Goodman.

Dashing Through the Snow

Dashing Through the Snow is an upcoming American Christmas fantasy comedy film directed by Tim Story (Fantastic Four, The Blackening), written by Scott Rosenberg, and starring Ludacris (Fast and Furious film series), Teyonah Parris (WandaVision, Candyman), and Lil Rel Howery (Get Out, Free Guy).

Eddie Garrick (Ludacris) is a good-hearted man who has turned his back on Christmas due to a traumatic childhood experience. At the request of his wife Allison Garrick (Parris), from whom he is separated, Eddie takes his 9-year-old daughter Charlotte (Madison Skye Validum) to work with him on Christmas Eve, where they meet a mysterious man in a red suit named Nick (Howery). Eddie, who is a social worker, thinks the man is delusional and needs professional help, but when he evokes the wrath of a local politician, he and his daughter are taken on a magical adventure that just might restore his faith in Christmas.

Dashing Through the Snow is produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Will Packer Productions, and Smart Entertainment, and is scheduled to be released on Disney+ on November 17, 2023. Watch the official trailer below.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is an upcoming American television series created by Chris Black and developed by Black and Matt Fraction for the streaming service Apple TV+, based on Godzilla by Toho Co., Ltd. Produced by Legendary Television, Safehouse Pictures and Toho Co., Ltd, it is the sixth installment and the second television series in the MonsterVerse franchise. The series follows members of the organization Monarch as they encounter Godzilla and other monsters, known as "Titans", over the span of a half-century, following the events of Godzilla (2014). Black serves as showrunner.

Following the epic battle between Godzilla and the MUTOs that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, two siblings, following in their father's footsteps, uncover their family's connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw, taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga — spanning three generations — reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.

The series stars Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV+ on November 17, 2023. Watch the official trailer below.

Rustin

Rustin is a 2023 American biographical drama film directed by George C. Wolfe (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), from a screenplay by Julian Breece and Dustin Lance Black, and a story by Breece about the life of civil rights activist Bayard Rustin.

Produced by Barack and Michelle Obama's production company Higher Ground Productions, the film stars Colman Domingo (Euphoria, Candyman) in the title role, alongside Chris Rock, Glynn Turman, Aml Ameen, CCH Pounder, Michael Potts, Jeffrey Wright and Audra McDonald. It is based on the true story of Rustin, who helped Martin Luther King Jr. and others organize the 1963 March on Washington.

Rustin premiered at the Telluride Film Festival on August 31, 2023, and was for the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2023. It is scheduled to be released in select theaters on November 3, 2023, before its streaming release on November 17, 2023, by Netflix. Watch the official trailer below.

A Christmas Story Christmas is a 2022 holiday family comedy from director Klay Curtis (A Christmas Chronicles), based on a screenplay by Curtis and Nick Schenk (Cry Macho), and a story by Peter Billingsley. It is based on the book In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash by Jean Shepherd. It is the highly anticipated follow-up to the holiday classic, A Christmas Story (1983). More impressive than the fact that it has been nearly 40 years, the star of the original film Peter Billingsley returns to reprise his role.

Ralphie, all grown up, returns to the house on Cleveland Street to give his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had as a child, reconnecting with childhood friends, and reconciling the passing of his Old Man.

Starring alongside Billingsley as Ralphie Parker are Erinn Hayes (“Bill & Ted Face the Music”) as Ralphie’s wife, Sandy; Julianna Layne (“Prodigal Son”) as their daughter, Julie; River Drosche (“Miracle Workers”) as son Mark; Scott Schwartz returning as Flick; RD Robb returning as Schwartz; Ian Petrella reprising his role as Ralphie’s brother, Randy; Davis Murphy (“Looking for Dr. Love”) as Delbert Bumpus; with Zack Ward returning as Scut Farkus; and Julie Hagerty (“Instant Family”) as Ralphie’s mom, Mrs. Parker.

Dead to Me: Season 3

Dead to Me is a dark comedy television series created by Liz Feldman and executively produced by Feldman, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Jessica Elbaum. The series premiered on May 3, 2019, on Netflix and stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini as two grieving women who bond during therapy.

At the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards, Applegate received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. At the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards, the show received four nominations including Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series and two Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Applegate and Cardellini.
