THE DOG STARS is a 2026 sci-fi action drama film directed by Ridley Scott, from a screenplay by Mark L. Smith and Christopher Wilkinson, based on the 2012 novel by Peter Heller. It is Scott’s first sci-fil film since Alien: Covenant (2017).
In a post-apocalyptic world, a virus wipes out humanity. Survivors face roaming scavengers called Reapers. Protagonist Hig (Jacob Elordi), a pilot, survived the flu but lost his wife.
The cast includes Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Allison Janney, and Benedict Wong.
