Spider-Man: No Way Home

From director Jon Watts and writers Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers , Spider-Man: No Way Home is the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and is the 27th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

The Harder They Fall

The Harder They Fall is a 2021 Netflix Original Western drama directed by Jeymes Samuel, who co-wrote the screenplay with Boaz Yakin.

When outlaw Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) discovers that the man who murdered his family, Rufus Buck (Idris Elba), is being released from prison he rounds up his gang to track Rufus down and seek revenge.

The full cast includes Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba, Zazie Beetz, Lakeith Stanfield, Delroy Lindo, Regina King, R.J. Cyler, Damon Wayans Jr., and Deon Cole.

The Harder They Fall will have its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on October 6th, 2021, and is scheduled to be released in select theaters and on Netflix November 3rd. Watch the official trailer below.

Dune

Dune is a 2021 sci-fi thriller directed by Denis Villeneuve with a screenplay by Jon Spaihts, Villeneuve, and Eric Roth. It is the first of a planned two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert, about the son of a noble family entrusted with the protection of the most valuable asset and most vital element in the galaxy.

The film stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem.

Dune is scheduled to premiere at the 78th Venice International Film Festival on September 3rd, 2021, and will hit theaters October 22nd, courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures, with a simultaneous release on HBO Max for 31 days. Watch the official trailer below.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Starring Anthony Mackie as Falcon and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is an upcoming Disney+ Original Series focusing on the dynamic duo. The series also stars Daniel Brühl continuing his role as the antihero Zemo.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, also known simply as Snake Eyes, is a 2021 superhero action film directed by Robert Schwentke from a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos, Joe Shrapnel, and Anna Waterhouse. Based on Hasbro's G.I. Joe toy, comic, and media franchise, the film is a reboot, and the third installment in the G.I. Joe film series and serves as an origin story for the title character Snake Eyes. Henry Golding stars as the title role, replacing Ray Park who portrayed him in the previous films.

Snake Eyes is a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he’s been longing for: a home. But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes’ honor and allegiance will be tested – even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him. The cast also includes Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow, Úrsula Corberó as The Baroness, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Tahehiro Hira as Kenta, and Iko Uwais as Hard Master.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is scheduled for a theatrical release in the United States on July 23rd, 2021, by Paramount Pictures.

From director Justin Lin, who helmed the directors chair for a number of the previous entries, Fast & Furious 9, otherwise known as simply F9, continues a franchise that to be quite honest helped shape my youth as it arrived in theaters in 2001 during my sophomore year in high school.

In this latest entry, Cipher enlists the help of Jakob, Dom's younger brother, to take revenge on Dom and his team.

I remember watching the original over and over again, to the point where I’d just hear the soundtrack in my head, and as I was not yet a licensed driver just thinking how cool it would be to eventually be able to drive a car myself. I also nearly fell into the trap of buying a civic to match the cars they used to jack trucks, but went with an Integra instead. I for one can’t wait for the latest entry to hit theaters this summer after suffering a number of COVID-19 related delays.

It tells the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci. Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control.

Lamb

Lamb is a 2021 Icelandic-Swedish-Polish horror drama directed by Valdimar Jóhannsson, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Sjón. In rural Iceland, a childless couple discover a strange and unnatural newborn in their sheep barn. They decide to raise her as their own, but sinister forces are determined to return the creature to the wilderness that birthed her.

The film stars Noomi Rapace, Hilmir Snær Guðnason, and Björn Hlynur Haraldsson.

From visionary director M. Night Shyamalan, Old is a 2021 drama thriller loosely based on the graphic novel Sandcastle by Pierre Oscar Levy and Frederik Peeters. It tells the story of a family on a tropical vacation who discover that the secluded beach where they are relaxing for a few hours is somehow causing them to age rapidly - reducing their entire lives into a single day.

The film stars Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Alex Wolff, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Rufus Sewell, Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Embeth Davidtz, Emun Elliott, and Kathleen Chalfant.

Nightmare Alley

Nightmare Alley is a 2021 thriller directed by Guillermo del Toro with a screenplay by del Toro and Kim Morgan, based on the 1946 novel of the same name by William Lindsay Gresham. An ambitious carny with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist who is even more dangerous than he is.

The film features an ensemble cast that includes Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman, and David Strathairn. It is the second feature film adaptation of Gresham's novel, following the 1947 version by 20th Century-Fox.

Yellowjackets

Yellowjackets is a 2021 coming-of-age drama television series created and executive produced by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson for Showtime. A team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness.

Peacemaker

Peacemaker is a 2022 television series created by James Gunn for the streaming service HBO Max, based on the DC Comics character Peacemaker. It is the first DC Extended Universe (DCEU) television series, a spin-off from the 2021 film The Suicide Squad. Set after the film, the series explores the origins of Peacemaker who believes in achieving peace at any cost.

John Cena stars as the title character, reprising his role from The Suicide Squad, with Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, and Chukwudi Iwuji also starring.

Gunn wrote all eight episodes of the series while completing work on The Suicide Squad during the COVID-19 pandemic, before HBO Max officially ordered Peacemaker straight-to-series in September 2020. Filming took place in Vancouver, Canada, from January to July 2021, with Gunn directing five of the episodes.
