Years after giving up life as CIA spies to start a family, Emily (Cameron Diaz) and Matt (Jamie Foxx) find themselves dragged back into the world of espionage when their cover is blown.

Den of Thieves 2: Pantera

DEN OF THIEVES 2: PANTERA is a 2024 action crime drama film written and directed by Christian Gudegast. It is a direct sequel to the 2018 film Den of Thieves (our full review here).

Sheriff Big Nick O'Brien (Gerard Butler) continues his relentless pursuit for Donnie Wilson (O’Shea Jackson Jr.), who manages to escape to Europe and is scheming yet another heist.

A mother and son fleeing from their past form a found family while confronting a harsh landscape of freedom and cruelty in the American West.

The Brutalist

THE BRUTALIST is a 2024 epic historical drama film written and directed by Brady Corbet, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mona Fastvold. The film is an international co-production between the United States, United Kingdom, and Hungary.

The film premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on September 1, 2024, where it received critical acclaim for its direction, screenplay, cinematography, editing, production design, and performances—particularly those of Brody, Pearce, and Jones. Corbet was awarded the Silver Lion for Best Direction.

When visionary architect László Toth and his wife Erzsébet flee post-war Europe in 1947 to rebuild their legacy and witness the birth of modern America, their lives are changed forever by a mysterious and wealthy client.

The cast includes Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Emma Laird, Isaach De Bankolé, and Alessandro Nivola.

Nosferatu

NOSFERATU is a 2024 supernatural gothic horror film written and directed by Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse). Following Werner Herzog's Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979), it is the second remake of the 1922 film written by Henrik Galeen and directed by F. W. Murnau, which in turn is an "unauthorized and unofficial" adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. Filming primarily took place in and around Prague between February and May 2023.

A gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.

The cast includes Bill Skarsgård, Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Emma Corrin, and Willem Dafoe.

A Complete Unknown

A COMPLETE UNKNOWN is a 2024 biographical musical drama film directed by James Mangold, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jay Cocks. Based on the 2015 book Dylan Goes Electric! by Elijah Wald, the film portrays Bob Dylan through his earliest folk music success until the momentous controversy over his use of electric instruments at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival.

In the early 1960s, 19-year-old Bob Dylan arrives in New York with his guitar and revolutionary talent, destined to change the course of American music. Forming his most intimate relationships during his rise to fame, he grows restless with the folk movement, making a controversial choice that reverberates worldwide.

Timothée Chalamet (who also produces) stars as Dylan, with Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Boyd Holbrook, Dan Fogler, Norbert Leo Butz, and Scoot McNairy in supporting roles. The film's title is derived from the chorus of Dylan's 1965 single "Like a Rolling Stone".

BABYGIRL is a 2024 mystery crime thriller film written, directed, and co-produced by Halina Reijn, who also directed the unique 2022 horror thriller Bodies Bodies Bodies (our full review here). The film premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on August 30th, 2024, where Nicole Kidman won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress. The North American premiere followed at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival on September 10th, 2024.

A high-powered CEO (Nicole Kidman) puts her family and career on the line when she embarks on a forbidden romance with a captivating young intern (Harris Dickinson).

The cast includes Nicole Kidman, Harris Dickinson, Sophie Wilde, and Antonio Banderas.

THE FIRE INSIDE is a 2024 biographical sports drama film directed by Rachel Morrison in her feature directorial debut, from a screenplay by Richard Jenkins. The film premiered in the Special Presentations section of the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7th, 2024.

The story of Claressa 'T-Rex' Shields, a boxer from Flint, Michigan who trained to become the first woman in her country's history to win an Olympic gold medal in the sport.

The cast includes Ryan Destiny as Claressa "T-Rex" Shields, Brian Tyree Henry as Jason Crutchfield, Oluniké Adeliyi as Jackie Shields, and De'Adre Aziza as Mickey.

Squid Game: Season 2

SQUID GAME is a South Korean dystopian survival thriller horror television series created, written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix. The series revolves around a secret contest where 456 players, all of whom are in deep financial hardship, risk their lives to play a series of deadly children's games for the chance to win a significant cash prize.

Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.

Mufasa: The Lion King

MUFASA: THE LION KING is a 2024 musical drama film directed by Barry Jenkins, written by Jeff Nathanson, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pastel Productions. It is the live-action styled photorealistic animated prequel to the similarly created 2019 remake of the original 1994 film The Lion King. Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and John Kani reprise their character roles from the remake, and are joined by Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr., who voice their young versions of King Mufasa and Scar, respectively.

Simba, having become king of the Pride Lands, is determined for his cub to follow in his paw prints while the origins of his late father Mufasa are explored.

The cast includes Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter, Donald Glover, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, and John Kani.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a 2024 action adventure comedy film based on the video game series published by Sega, and the sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022). It is directed by Jeff Fowler who helmed the previous two films, and written by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington, based on a story by Casey and Miller. The film draws inspiration from the video games Sonic Adventure 2 (2001) and Shadow the Hedgehog (2005).

Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are pitted against a mysterious and powerful new adversary, Shadow the Hedgehog. The trio seeks out an an unlikely ally, Dr. Robotnik, in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet.

THE STICKY is a 2024 dark comedy series created by Brian Donovan and Ed Herro. Produced by Jason Blum and Jamie Lee Curtis, the show is loosely based on the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist that took place between 2011 and 2012.

When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack by greedy competitors who were once her friends, she concocts a scheme to exact revenge and shake up the industry.
