The Strangers: Chapter 3

June 7, 2017

THE STRANGERS: CHAPTER 3 is a 2026 horror film directed by Renny Harlin, from a screenplay by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland. It serves as the fifth film in The Strangers film series, and the final installment of a new trilogy following THE STRANGERS: CHAPTER 1 (our full review here) and THE STRANGERS: CHAPTER 2 (our full review here). I will be the first to admit that the first entry in the new trilogy was a bit rough to say the least, but the 2nd film impressed me with more of a focus on origin story and the slasher element that made the franchise so successful in the beginning.

In the "Strangers" finale, survivors face new threats from masked strangers. Secrets emerge, jeopardizing their lives as the line between reality and peril blurs in their battle for survival.

The cast includes Madelaine Petsch, Gabriel Basso, Ema Horvath, and Richard Brake.

Snowfall: Season 4

“Business is booming in season four of Snowfall. It's January 1st, 1985. Ronald Reagan has won his re-election campaign proclaiming it is "morning again in America," but in South Central, Los Angeles, it feels more like the sun is getting low. The demand for crack cocaine is high, and while our crew of dealers led by Franklin Saint (Damson Idris) are benefiting greatly from the rising tide of addiction, they are also starting to become aware of the damage the drug is doing to the people and to the place they love. With the entire nation taking note, the LAPD is diverting serious money and resources to the "war on drugs." Politicians' phones are ringing. Powerful people are concerned from the hallways of The White House to those of CIA headquarters, where there are whispers that one of their own may be involved in this burgeoning epidemic.”

Golden Globes 2021: Winners and Losers

March 29, 2017

Alright so the 2021 Golden Globes, or at least a zoom version, came and went, so did it go as you expected? I have to say, I was impressed with some of the selections that took home the gold this year but the show was fairly predictable.

___________________

  • Nomadland grabbing best motion picture in the drama category, as well as Chloé Zhao taking home best director for a motion picture, was absolutely glorious.

  • Jason Sudeikis winning best performance for an actor in a TV series for the fantastic Apple TV+ comedy series Ted Lasso was well deserved.

  • Mark Ruffalo got the award in the limited series category for HBO’s I Know This Much is True, a very good but extremely depressing series.

  • Rosamund Pike took home the gold for best actress in a musical or comedy for her incredible performance in the Netflix film I Care a Lot.

  • Borat Subsequent Moviefilm took home best motion picture in the musical or comedy category which certainly ruffled some feathers which I get, I mean the Borat films work but to say they are award-winning is a bit of a stretch. Although Sia’s Music was a contender in that category as well, so we could have done worse.

BUT… the snub for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet is an absolute travesty, and we should all write a very strongly worded email about it.
